Anyone like Samuri Champloo?

Post by DarkMousysGirl » Thu May 19, 2005 7:53 am

My favorite anime of all time, D.N.Angel, has sold out here in Japan. Now my big obsession is Samuri Champloo. Does anyone on this site like it, or have seen it?

It's good. I've only seen the first eight episodes (or so) though. Do you want to talk about any episode in particular?

Completely. I loved how the narration was all "This ain't historical fact. Like we care, shut the fuku up and enjoy teh show." ^.^ And getting Spike (Cowboy Bebop)'s dub voice for that guy (@_@ I can't remember his name) was a wiiiiise ass choice. And I know Gene's voice, but it ain't comin'!! Grrr...

Hehe, but yes! Mixing up historical Japan with hip hop/pop/whatever culture was a kickin' choice!

The pot episode gets my nod. And the baseball one with the Americans.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I've seen the first eight episodes and I like it so far. But I hope the plot starts to go somewhere soon.

Kirk (aka Sparky) Thornton is the VA for Jin. You may recognize him from Rurouni Kenshin as Saito or Cowboy Bebop as Asimov.
Steven Jay Blum is the VA for Mugen

Anyone i loved the show, it had a very bebop feel for obvious reasons. I'm hoping the story is as good as the animation.
