Songs Appropriate for my Anime

Post by Suzuki_Akira » Fri May 20, 2005 6:37 pm

I just moved, so I've lost a bit of my anime(hopefully temporarily). Those that I've bought since or recovered:

Samurai X (Trust and Betrayal)
Noir(Entire Series)
Cowboy Bebop(Entire Series)

That's it. Any songs that would fit any of those? I hesitate to make any more Samurai X videos. I'd prefer suggestions for Noir.

Just a few

Post by dj_ultima_the_great » Sat May 21, 2005 8:38 pm

Um, I think I have a few ideas for Noir typed up......yup. Found 'em. I think of lots of ideas, but rarely get around to making them, so I just type them up for later - or for other people such as yourself to take on. So, here's what I have for Noir:

Marilyn Manson - "Coma Black"

Face to Face - "I Won't Lie Down" (or the "Kombat Mix")

Killswitch Engage - "The End of Heartache" (I prefer the version on the Resident Evil: Apocalypse soundtrack - it's less screamy)

Hmm...only three? I thought I had more than that. Still, Noir ideas are hard to come up with because the show really is just a lot of action. Sure, there's a bit of Mireille's and Kirika's past, but not much more to offer than that - unless you want to tell the legend of Noir itself. Well, to be honest, I do have two more ideas, but the first is already being made right now and the second is something that I'm not sure everyone understands. The other two are:

Mad at Gravity - "Historypeats" - the song really is perfect for Noir. Unfortunately for you, someone already agreed to do this idea. Still, if you don't care about that then neither do I.

Moulin Rouge - Craig Armstrong - "Final Score" - to me, this would basically follow the story of the anime, with an ever-quickening pace and an explosive ending. That's the simplest way I can describe it.

Hope these help some. Lucky for you, I haven't seen either of the other two anime (I know, I know - "GASP! Someone who hasn't seen Cowboy Bebop!?!?), so I don't have any ideas for those anyway.

As always, Farewell, Good Luck, and Happy AMV-ing!

That other vid would be called Tainted Donuts, currently in the top 15 videos ever made on this site, to copy it would get me deservedly hung by my entrails.

Dj Ultima, your suggestions are great. Thanks so much, I'm checking them out now and I'm getting ideas. Let's see which pans out.

I have always wanted to make an Angie Aparo amv but I have never found an anime I thought went with it. If you think you could make his song "Memphis City Rain" work with Noir, I would definitely watch that.

I have been suggesting "Hey Bulldog" by the Beatles for Cowboy Bebop for what seems like ages. Can send lyrics and mp3 if requested.
Making an amv, is rather like being the director of a Broadway show, where you have a million dancers and each of them only knows one step.

I also think the song "Gravity" by Aparo goes with Noir, but really just the chorus. The 'feel' and sound goes with it in my ears.

I am so desperate for Angie Aparo amvs I have seriously considered sponsoring a contest with gift cards to Best Buy to the winners. I have way too much on my plate anymore with house keeping, my web comic and life in general to make more than a few amvs a year...if that. So it would be great if people wanted to use his music.
