"* adopt mindset from deontological ethical theory and treat fans as ends in themselves, not as a means to profit, or at least provide convincing illusion of such"
Judging from the negative replies made towards Kunicon, that appearently is a bigger problem than any technical glitch.

That silence you hear is Manny sticking his fingers in his ear and singing "Lalalalalala I can't hear you..."trythil wrote: You forgot

there's a fundamental problem with the con and the business model.
It relies on the volunteerism and free content of fandom to produce resources indefinetly or it doesn't turn profit.
Conventional wisdom (no pun intendend) says nobody's making anime music videos or anime costumes or fan art simply to become an unpaid attraction in some third party's business venture.
I dunno how they plan to address this since it also causes animosity from others....

Nope, that one was the most important, although not a suggestion because we never looked at it that way. I wanted to quickly update everyone here where we are on AMV'strythil wrote:You forgotecamac01 wrote:lets see...

we had 34 videos entered and all have been judged and the winners have been defined in these categories:
Best of Show
Best Technical
Best Action
Best Drama
Best Action
In response to the above I got our organization to go Not-For-Profit. I completely forgot that the channels we released that info never came here.
Also I listened to a few of the suggestions that pointed out to go with trophies. so I went with clear crystalline and acrylic trophies.
We have our videos being burned to DVD to avoid a PC, but I have the PC as a backup. everything is ready to go. So i will see you guys there.
everything has been tested and retested. the playlist has been played through to ensure the quality of the viewing. Thanks to all the AMV studios on this board that have submitted suggestions in email, PM, or IM and to those that have called me with your suggestions. I appreciate it greatly.

Kunicon takes every end user as a valued customer not a statistic number.dokool wrote:That silence you hear is Manny sticking his fingers in his ear and singing "Lalalalalala I can't hear you..."trythil wrote: You forgot
