I'd say Rakka (maybe Reiki) from Haibane Renmei is
or any episode character from Boogiepop Phantom. specially that guy from the "My Fair Lady" episode.Spoiley von Spoilenburg wrote:anyone who's gone through the risk of total sin is scarred, and anyone who cuts does have some emotional problems (not to offend, speakin from experience. get off my back)

It's hard to say.
Either Shinji or his father, Gendo
Shinji has a lot of emotional scarring from both his mother dying because of his father, and his father's abandonment of him shortly thereafter.
On top of that, there's the whole deal of not only his father coming back years later, telling him that he has to pilot this giant robot-like craft and fight these enormous monsters, or else he's completely worthless (notice the total lack of love and "how have you been these past 10 years?" deal), but also the fact that so much was hidden from him and the others, including the part that his father really didn't care much about his life, and only wanted to turn him into the Second Christ for his own gains.
Then you have Gendo, whom for all the messed-up-ness that Shinji has, this guy is about ten times as sick.
Gendo first obsesses over gaining more and more power, manipulating SEELE in his own way; then, after his wife's death, he abandons his own child to pursue a means by which he might bring her back - even if that means turning his own son into the Son of God himself, thus sacrificing his life, in order to do so. The thought never crosses his mind that his wife, if resurrected, would hate him for knowingly sending their son to his death.
Even Vader wouldn't sacrifice Luke once he knew that Luke was his son, but that'd never stop Gendo. The man has some serious psychosis to work out.

Prince Yuki
I think Yuki from Fruits Basket is pretty messed up, though he does try to hide it. I mean, anyone who has a stalker who pretends to care about him but beat him up when he was little and a stalking fan club that can get pretty creepy would disturb a person. Also, there's that whole rat thing and all of his friends having to get their memories erased. He has all these girls after him but he has to push them away. And then there's Tohru, who he obviously cares about, but then there's the last two episodes, which I won't talk about in case I spoil it for someone. Oh yeah, then there's Ayame and the whole history with that. Plus, everybody thinks he's a girly boy because of his looks, which he isn't happy about (the dress). Proof that he is messed up is the fact that he became Student Council President because he didn't want to. Maybe he has become unconciously addicted to pain and sadness becuase it is normal to him. Poor guy.

I would think Shinji more then gendo, because Gendo is mostly just evil where as Shinji is more mentally insane.EmilLang1000 wrote:It's hard to say.

I'd agree. Shinji is dealing with finding acceptance, questioning whether or not he belongs, his feelings on girls (and boys, if Kaoru counts), the pain of his past and his father, his new status in life, and learning that it's possible to love and feel good about himself.Evangelion Unit 01 wrote: I would think Shinji more then gendo, because Gendo is mostly just evil where as Shinji is more mentally insane.
Gendo wants Yui, and will do anything for that. he seems to regret treating Shinji the way he did, but that's only in the movie.
I figure as far as messed up ppl, look up the hentai "Stepmother's Sin" the kid and the mom are way past messed up there.
