Serial Experiments - Lain (what's it about?)

I've been wondering about this series for quite a while now.

I know that it gets really weird...so is it like EVA weird, weirder, less weird?
Should I watch it before I actually buy it?
Is it gonna be like too confusing/weird?

Gimme some particulars...but of course no spoilers ok?[/b]

It's sort of philisophical in a lot of ways, but yet purely fiction at the same time.

What Lain is and what the true circumstances of their reality is surprising when you figure it out, but it'll take you a few times through the series before you get it. Lots of symbolism involved.

I watched it once through and I found the concepts a lil hard to grasp. But then at the time I was a little pre-occupided with my ex.

I'm sure if i watched it now i could pay a lil more attnetion and pick up on the things that I missed. From what I remember from the series it's kinda like "The Matrix," but not. Watch it and decide for yourself.

lain is more weird than eva, just without the fighting scenes.
in the first 3 episodes you'll check nothing, but then it goes on.
watch it if you're a fan of such psychopatic scenes, if not, stay away from lain.

I've seen the eva series three times and there's some stuff that i still don't understand, when u find more information and watch more. sometimes u get more comfused. The last tewo episodes were brainwashing..i suggest that u watch it in english, i hate the english voices but it'll be better to understand when u know what they're saying and not trying to read that subs because u gonna have to do alot of reading. End of Eva was cool and a bit weird in the end ....if u really and eva fan it very F--ks your head up......i couldn't stop thinking about wha happened for about three weeks. I still don't get what was the point of what asuka said in the ver end...not gonna say cause i don't think the thread starter didn't see yet and don't wanna spoil it

Lain is easy to understand if you dont look for a plot, because as soon as you think you understand it (the plot) they rip it out from under you and you realise that.. nope, that definitely was NOT the plot. This happens at LEAST 4 times.

When the last episode rolls out, thats when you understand it.

I watched it. Yeah, that was weird. So what happened? Are they the only ones left? Was that image of Rei her or an illusion? It ended so abruptly that I wouldn't even call it an end.
