Misunderstood Animes
I've been hearing some bad things about some animes that i think are ok for instance super milk-chan doesn't seem that bad alot of people even say it has a sort of mature humor to it. Has anyone else come across a misunderstood anime then please make a post and prove your case.

Oh God, yes!
People foolishly mistaken GAINAX's new series He is My Master as another lame maid fanservice trash like Mahoromatic, but in actuality it has quite of bit humor that pokes fun in the maid genre. I mean you don't normally get to see an openly perverted 14 year old boy Yoshitaka, an infactiuous lesbian Anna, and a perverted alligator Pochi go forth the victimized Izumi with the loli sister Mitsuki being the conspirator. And they didn't have to resort of showing bare breasts since it's always covered.

You seem to have missed the depth as well, just like I was talking about. The humor is generaly seen. The depth is what most people miss.

Yes, I observed that with FLCL quite a bit, I have to agree. Most seem to take it in a "lol random funnay" sort of way, entirely missing some of the very relevant social commentary in the series - which, to me, is of no little value for enjoying the whole thing.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Hmm... I'll avoid the obvious (and already stated ones) and go with
Chobits. Early episodes are pretty empty leaving viewers to assume that it's a fanservice comedy when in fact it's a commentary on relationships.
Kodomo No Omochi (Childs toy, however it's actually spelled). Seems completely random and weird, but actually dove into some fairly tough concepts for a childrens show like disfunctional families, and child abandonment.

Narutaru. Noone gets past the intro sequence without thinking they're watching something cute and shallow/Pokemonesque. Anyone that watches it anyway finds a much darker heart to it.
Repeat for Princess Tutu (albeit with less gore, violence, psychological trauma, and torture).
Man, am I a stuck record player or what?
