Ah, so many doubts. How many of you thought Mai-HiME at first would have been full of fanservice crap because of mostly female protagonists? And now look how it turned out.

Looks sort of like it has nothing to do with the original, other than a similarity of name.

Hopefully, that's the case.
Even if it turns out to be the greatest second season in the history of anime, I'd still be dissapointed that they couldn't just stick with an actual ending for the series. That's one of my favorite things about anime series... they end. They don't just go on till oblivion or ratings cancel them and leave the plot hanging.
