Ani-Quest 1 ( Now Accepting Submissions)

Post by genestarwind21122 » Thu Jun 16, 2005 7:43 am

This is our first year contest. And we are expecting a good turn out for the convention. The convention will be on October 8th in Arnold MD at Anne Arundel community college.

Yes we are now accepting submissions for Ani Quest 1. Here are the rules for the contest.

1. Submissions must be recieved by September 24th, 2005
2. 2 Entries per creator/ studios.
3. No Hentai, nudity, violence (excessive), racial or verbal obscenities.
4. No subtitle footage unless you put them in there.
5. No English Dialogue from the anime, You may use the Japanese voices and put in your own subtitles.
6. Videos must have been created after November 1st 2004. NO TROLLING (if you win on a online contest that doesn't count, it is only for convention contest if you win at them.)
7. Videos length must be at least 1 minute long and at the max it can be 6 minutes with some lead way, but don't push it.
8. Categories for the contest are Romantic/Sentimental, Dramatic/Serious, Action, Upbeat/Rythm, and Comedy(Trailer/Commerical are included in this category but must follow the 1 minute rule.).
9. Formats accepted are wmv, mpeg1, mpeg2, avi, DivX. (No guarntee with wmv formats since I would have to do the re-encoding myself. So if you could use TMPGEnc and convert them into Mpeg1 or 2 format for me that would be great.)
10. Videos must be sent with a submission form. (Which is below all of the rules.
11. Please no bumpers for the videos, or studio logos we will make the bumpers ourselves to keep them consistant.
12. Please include second blank footage before and after the video. (This will not count towards your video time. This will just make it easier to put the dvd together.)
12a. Please insure that you encode your CD-R/ DVD-R properly.
13. Anyone may enter the contest except Ani-Quest Staff.
14. Ani-Quest is not responsible for videos being lost or misplace in the mail. Please make sure you give your video plunty of time to get to us.
15. All videos must be in by the deadline, we will give a 2 day lead way but that's about it.
16. You don't have to be present for the prize, but if you do win we'll talk about shipping cost of the trouph later.

Also for anybody that doesn't want to mail there amv's well download them from the org if you want, but remember the quality you put up here on the org is what will be shown at the convention. So please only do this if your going to cut it close to the deadline and don't have enough time to mail them, because we really do need all the videos by the September 24th. We appreciate anybody that want to submit to help make Ani-Quest 1 a success. Thanks.

Dang, shows how long I've been away, could have sworn the deadline was sometime in July. Shweet! More time! I'm definitely submitting.

"Dunno, I was probably asleep when you said it."

Yes the deadline got pushed way back because I found out that it is possible to judge the videos in 2 weeks. Of course well watch videos as they come in and give them scoring. So that way there isn't a giant amount at the end. Basically we have fine tune the contest where everything should run smoothly. Thanks for taking intrest in the contest.

To update the prize list. We will be giving out a wall scroll to the winner of each category and I'll have to check on the T-shirts but the top 3 videos in each category will recieve an Ani-Quest T-Shirt.
