AnimeNext 2005 AMV Contest - Full Results
Yooooosh~. Here we go with the full information on the contest.
The contest was played four times throughout the entire convention (Friday 12 noon, Friday 11:30 pm, Saturday 11 am, Sunday 4 pm). Ballots were due Saturday by 5:00 pm. We had a total of thirty-one videos in the contest. The videos were separated into four categories: Trailer/Parody, Action, Drama, and Comedy (six, eight, eleven, and six videos, respectively). The Trailer/Parody category was open to the public at AnimeNext for the first time, this year. At the end of the contest, a recap was played, which was basically a slide-show collection of all of the title cards and a uniquely identifying screen shot from the video, one after another (put to Amber Pacific's cover of "Video Killed the Radio Star"). Each attendee could pick their single favorite video in each of the four categories; this would decide the four popular vote winners. After the ballots were counted, the judges (myself and Meri) selected one other video that we felt set itself apart from the other videos in some kind of way (with both technical and artistic merits).
All five winning videos were played during the awards ceremony, which took place Saturday evening during the judges' deliberation for the cosplay awards. The winners will all receive printed and signed certificates. We will be contacting you to confirm your mailing addresses!
So here's the full list of videos! Links to their respective entries here on the org are provided where available.

So there we go! I think that's pretty much everything I can think of. If you have any further comments, questions, or suggestions about the contest, feel free to let me know.
It is the decision of the individual editor (or editors) to make their own videos available for download online. It is *not* the decision of the contest coordinators or any other AnimeNext staff.
Thanks, everyone, and I'll see you all again next year! *collapses*

I had a wonderful time at the AMV contest and the Con in general. We were also blessed with fantastic weather. I'd like to give a HUGE thanks to you and Mike for managing the contest and panels. It certainly is a lot of work especially with all the equipment toting and unforseen issues that can pop up. Great job managing around them.
