o/~ We had joy, we had fun, we had season in the sun o/~

Watching Grave of the Fireflies was torture. Watch it once, and then never, ever watch it again.

I almost threw up.

I finally got around to seeing it. I would like to go and buy the DVD, but I'm not sure if I'll want to watch it again (not for a long time, anyway).

Wow... never cried at an Anime even the end of the Samurai X: Refelctions, but Grave of the Fireflies is a classic. Something about Hayao Miyazaki's production company, but they've never seemed to have made a bad movie, and this might be their best ever (I know Miyazaki himself didn't do this movie, but I heard his studio did). It's a shame that it took so long for the film to come to the US, but I'm glad it did finally.
It sheds a lot of light on the mentality of Japan in the 1940s, and all at once makes you hate the Japanese for how they thought, and love those that still managed to keep their humanity.
If you haven't seen this movie, make a point to. And bring tissues.

To be honest, I laughed quite a bit up until the end. How depressing, I never want to watch that movie again. . . there's just nothing happy about it.

Takes place during WWII. A boy and his younger sister try to survive on their own after loosing their parents during a fire bombing. A very tragic story.
Probably too busy to be here right now.

I agree, this movie is to buy like Passion of the Christ and Schindler's List.
Movies to keep but have more courage to watch later.

I saw the movie on AZNtv and it was a pretty sad movie, I must admit I did cry, even when the little girl died I cried...I must say that it is a rather touching, heart filling movie *nods.*
