I am looking for a certain anime or story arc from an anime.

Hello. I know that this is an odd question, but...Can anyone here think of any anime, or a story arc from any anime, that featured a character who traveled around seeking out specific people, wanting to recruit these specific people for some kind of cause, and searched for a new person every episode?

I know that there are lot of anime featuring people who hunted someone new every episode, such as Cowboy Bebop, Noir, and Sorcerer Hunters. But, I'm not looking for an anime where a group of people sought out someone to kill them or arrest them, a new target every episode. I am looking for an anime where someone is searching for specific individual people people, namely to recruit them for a cause, with a new person every episode.

Does anyone know an anime like that? Or even vaguely know what I'm talking about?

One Piece kinda follows that arc, but not each episode...

Hmm. . . that's a toughy. ^^;;

+X all of the different Dragons of Heaven and Dragons of Earth and what not.

+Galaxy Angel has that a bit in the first ep. and when they're finding new characters.

+Mirage of Blaze has new people popping up all the time that are involved in the same quest of whatever.

+Fruits Basket they're always meeting new Jyuunishi.

+Kaikan Phrase they spend the first couple of episodes trying to put together a band and find perfect members.

+Wolf's Rain to an extent, because they're seeking paradise and end up seeking out Chesa and eachother and all that good junk.

Well, that's the best that I can do. I really can't think of anything else, even though I'm pretty sure that more than half of what I listed aren't what you're looking for. Good luck! =)

I only watched the first half of the series, but Boogiepop Phantom seemed to fit that description somewhat. Saotome tried turn someone evil every episode, if I'm remembering correctly. It's been a while though, so it's a little fuzzy on the details. But overall, I'd say BPP is the closest anime I can think of to that description.

They're not exactly "people", but...Cardcaptor Sakura & Pokemon.

I just remembered another one: Fushigi Yuugi. Miaka has to find the seven Constellations of Suzaku before Yui finds the Seven of Seiryu.

What do you mean by that? Who is being searched for in Yugioh or Dragonball?

No idea for Yu-Gi-Oh!, but DBZ had them searching for the Namekian Dragonballs during the Furiiza Saga, and a little for the Dragonballs during the Cell Saga.
