What got you into anime?
And what was the first anime series that you bought?
What got me into anime? Thats a hard question for me, a lot of fucked up moments in life...i guess everyone has a story here, personal, non-personal, its definitley something that became a part of your life, as well as mine.
The first anime series that i owned was evangelion.
You guys?

I've seen anime before i knew what it was like Thunder Cats and the old Transformers on UPN, but it wasn't until Toonami back when it was ran by Moltar showing Dragonball Z i didn't get into anime. which makes me wonder, why didn't they ever show the original TF's, they showed Gundam.

I saw Voltron as a kid, but didn't know it was anime until recently. . .I watched the wonderful Cartoon Network version of Sailor Moon in the mid-90s, liked it, but didn't really get into anything, until early 2003 when my younger sister lent me some of the Sailor Moon movies. While watching them, I thought, "This is something I could watch comfortably for hours on end." At that point, I could afford to start collecting anime DVDs, so I bought up the Sailor Moon discs to "recapture" the old days, and moved on to other series. Eventually, I discovered the power of bootlegs, downloads, and trading with fellow anime fans to expand my collection, along with a hefty share of R1 purchases to support the industry, of course.
(I only mention illegal anime for historical purposes here, okay?)

Watched Ronin Warriors in 1992. I watched Voltron and Speed Racer before that but didn't know it was anime.
