Free ops for anyone, no limit, possibly multiple

Post by Garylisk » Mon Jun 27, 2005 10:45 pm

It seems people need motivation, so here it comes.

That's right, I will op your video, and you might get some more ops from some other people too. All you have to do is enter your video into the Archon 29 AMV contest.

Rules:
1. Your video must meet the criteria stated on the rules page for the contest.
2. You must agree that by submitting your video for an op here, you are also entering it into the Archon AMV contest.
3. Videos must be new. Meaning, they must be your latest video at the time of submission, or at least very recent.
4. It is not necessary to mail me the video, and I will op any and all videos posted here, but as far as the contest is concerned, it is in your best interest to provide a video which has good quality video source so as not to be docked points. (As with getting ops, it's a good idea if it looks good.)
5. Again, all Archon AMV contest rules apply.

The main contest page is available by clicking my sig picture as well.

I was actually thinking of joining your contest. I'm working on a new amv right now. But I'll also submit Pain of War under Drama my newest video will go probably under Action. I'll be mailing you both of my submissions as well. So I'll probably do it in the next week.

Sooooo we post up our AMV we want to enter here, then are you formatiting it the way you want it to be or are we just obligated to send it in to you in the correct manner?

Just a little confused sorry lol.

I'm a little confused as to how this works.

Is this to say that if we post our video for opping in this topic, we automatically give you the right to snatch the video and enter it into the contest (thus leaving the burden of entry and crap on you)? Or, if we post in the topic, you expect us to enter the video in the contest by ourselves eventually (thus leaving the burden of entry on us)?

Either way, I'll probably want to do this as I'm never against a free opinion or exposure of my video, but I'd just like the logistics of this cleared up beforehand.

That's OK.

Yeah, it has to conform to all the rules stated on the rules page as far as video source and quality, do if it has a bumper or text overlay or something of the sort, if it's easy to crop off so I can ad the contest bumper, I'll just do it myself.. but otherwise, it might be hard.

It'd be nice if you sent me the entry email, but since I am, basically, deperate for entries so we can actually HAVE a contest, I guess I'll let submissions form this thread slide and I'll go ahead and format the video entry. I'll still need an email address and such, though.

For those still confused, think of it this way: You're entering your video in the contest, and as a bonus, I'll op all the vids, and possibly talk some of the judges at the con to do the same. Don't think of this as "I'm getting a free op, and as a bonus it gets entered in a contest." - That's not how it is. In other words, I am exchanging opinions for contest entries. Does that way of saying it make more sense?

(Basically, I was getting frustrated at how few entries there were so far in the contest, and the board was asking me if we were really going to do the contest this year... and of course, I said yes :P )

OK anyway, you can link up the vids however ya want... and odn't be afraid. Entering the contest means exposure, and if I get all the planning and such done beforehand, prizes for winners. The prizes, however, are still in limbo, and I'm not sure if we'll have anything but winner certificates this year.. but definitely prizes NEXT year.. HOPEFULLY prizes this year. *crosses fingers*

I already have Molly, but can't enter it into the con.

I'm downloading the other one right now.
