Final thoughts on Loveless as a whole series.

Post by angelx03 » Sat Jul 02, 2005 10:11 am

I'm impressed. It has been a long time since we have a homosexual type series that actually has some mass appeal; the last time we had that is with the shoujo-ai series Utena. I mean even though we have our "primary couple", Ritsuka and Soubi, the show also treated us guys with some interesting female characters like the busty catgirl Yuiko and that lesbian Zero couple. 8-)

The actual plot is very intriguing yet mysterious; questions that may included like how Ritsuka's brother Seimei got killed and who is that organization who's forming those "psychic" people. Oh yea, those psychic battle scenes definetely looks awesome; you need to see them yourself.

Here's hope for a second season! Any thoughts?

Okay...What in the fuck.... just like....wow...and stuff.

Now that my incoherent babbling is over with, I'd just like to say that I watched the 1st episode of this show because of your post. And, I was VERY confused. People with ears and tails, random fighting, and a man in his twenties, practically molesting a 13 year old. But I guess I shouldn't be that suprised since anime is like this quite often. So, does it get explained better later or will I remain utterly confused?

The plot will unfold little by little though
the way the last epiosde left off (like having Seimei actually be alive) certainly made room for a second season.

I know I haven't finished the series, but I figured there was no harm done in discussing it while I was watching it. I'm on episode three, and yes, it is getting a bit less confusing. I like it though. So did Seimei die two years ago, or recently?

Oh and by the way, is it just me or did the part where Ritsuka pierces Soubi's ears (the dialouge exchanged) seem to have alot of underlying sexual implications in it? :?

Oh man, I kind of forgot when Seimei died. As for the ear piercing scene, that made me cringe quite a bit. :x

Is it worth watching for those of us who dislike yaoi? I watched the first episode, and it wasn't bad, but at the end, it didn't leave an impression that it would become more interesting.

Try to tough it out in the first few episodes. You won't be disappointed as much.

Besides there are times where Ritsuka became a good gentleman especially during that strawberry jam incident in episode 4.

They'd better make a second season. I watched episode 12 thinking "ooooo things are getting interesting"...not realizing that it was supposed to be the last episode. =/

Either that or I'll have to make a concentrated effort to get the manga.

And uh, I rather enjoyed the ear piercing scene

I finished the series. Is there supposed to be a sequel or something? There was some closure at the end, but still, there needs to be more episodes.

Oh and, what exactly WAS the relationship between Soubi and Ritsuka? I mean, did Soubi really love him? And was there like some kind of "sexual" thing going on there? So confused..... :?

I'll be watching the last 2 episodes later tonight - hopefully I won't be too disappointed ^^; I'm actually hoping this will get licensed someday. I love the animation...and I guess I'm a sucker for "cat-boys".

On a side note, why is it that many yaoi/shounen-ai shows end around 12 episodes or so?

Although, I suppose I could guess
