people liking anime all over the world and why

hiya!i have sent one of these b4 but not a lot of people seemed to have said anything. i'm doin' a history project and i got to do it on anything i want and ofcourse i chose anime!now my question to answer b4 tuesday (12th july) is "Why is Anime so popular all over the world and what are the reasons to why people like it so much?" 2 main reasons that i love anime is because i love the stories and also i love the drawing. anyways plz help!

Here are some of my reasons for liking anime so much.
1) Beautiful animation, much better then american animation.
2) Unique story lines that make me think about about things that I normally wouldn't, such as in Lain.
3) Unique characters including psychopathic killers.
4) A good escape from reality
5) Lots of fighting with swords, fists, and everything else in sight

I don't know why others like it so much but these are my top reasons. I hope that this helps a little bit.

Animation allows for things that could not normally be accomplished in somthing like movies, for example. People can do complicated fight moves that would be physically impossible it it weren't for animation.

So, what makes anime different from american animation then? Anime allows for a larger variety of themes with anything from "saving the world" to dealing with infatuation of a sibling (incest). Whereas, american animation is reserved, for the most part, for younger audiences.

Visually, anime is (or can be) beatuiful, incredible and detailed. The stories in anime covers a wide range of subjects, everything from psychological thrillers to fantasy to just plain weird. You just can't get any of that with live action TV. The only thing "normal" TV offers is stuff like Friends, Will and Grace, those sorts of things. Which is fine, but anime offers that and more. The storylines tend to be better thought out because they are going for quality not quantity, that is, some anime series are like 5 or 6 episodes long and they don't leave it open in case people want more. Plus if they tried to some of the fight scenes in fantasy based anime in live action, we all know it would look like crap.

If your doing a history project then it's best to mainly focus on the evolution of anime in japan, as thats where most of the interesting stuff has occured. Oh and seriosly, spell properly. It'l help when the teacher is reasing your report.

This is not a personal opinion, more of a general fact about anime. One reason that anime is so popular, (and also a reason why anime porn [hentai] is a lot more common than other animated porn) is that the human features that could be called "sexual triggers" are always exaggerated (this mostly applies to the females). Big eyes, for instance, is a small, subconscious turn-on, since the pupils always get larger during sexual arousal. Likewise; small noses, really slim waists, flowing hair and rounded cheeks do the same thing.

Those of us who've accidentally read the wrong kind of doujinshis also know that there are other features that can be exaggerated for the same effect; and I don't mean just boobs...
