Not exactly anime but I felt it was somewhat relavent. This guy built his own mech and is selling it to afford to build more.

I saw a commercial or a segment on G4 about it. Who knows, maybe in about 5 - 10 - 20 years from now we'll fully operational mech that are capable of mass destruction.
