I wasn't really so much mad as I was awed and in disbelief that you didn't know that Eva was licensed. Thus why I said "Ignorant" and not something like "retarded". You were ignorant of the fact that it was licensed! 
Anyway, I know it was picked up, but I don't have the exact release date on hand. I'd say sometime this Fall is quite likely. Anyone else got more details?

Love Hina was licensed FOUR years ago. And there are very few, if any, anime shows you can download legally off the internet (I can't even think of one). According to Anime News Network, no air date on Adult Swim has been decided yet although they have announced that they will be showing Eva at some time.

Otherwise, signs point to quite a few edits having been done on Eva already.
It's a strange thing that it show up on TV, but I'm not entirely optimistic as far as content goes.
That said, a sound business decision. There's far too much noise around Eva to miss the chance of it being shown on TV. Especially if the Eva movie does indeed get made, exposure of the mainstream audience to the TV series is a requisite.

It hasn't been on television up to this point because the license has been expensive, the editing will have to be heavy, and the content will be controversial. I completely agree with what bob said. If they DO bring it to TV, they will have to edit out ALL of the best parts, and it will probably bring up a lot of conflict with the religous nuts of the world. I think its better if they just leave it off TV and save themselves from having to Brutally Butcher a good anime.
