Used/Previously Viewed anime

Post by CelticWhisper » Mon Jul 11, 2005 12:40 pm

Okay, so my Blockbuster did some spring cleaning of their anime section (as they do periodically on all sections), and most of the good stuff is gone. They usually sell the previously-viewed titles for $10 or so a pop.

What I'd like to know is, since the rental place has been pretty much bled dry, are there any other good places to go (preferably brick 'n' mortar, though online stores are okay if there are no other options) for used or pre-viewed anime?

Note that I'm not talking about bootlegged stuff, as I already know plenty of places to get that when I need a parrot-and-eyepatch fix, but rather am looking for official/legitimate/real/bona-fide/accept-no-substitutions versions, but used and therefore cheaper.

Any leads?

If you're looking for brick and mortar places it helps if we know where you are.

Whoops. Yeah, that'd be helpful, wouldn't it?

I'm in the Chicago 'burbs, so I'm pretty confident that there'll be something, what with the city right next door. Of course, that still leaves the issue of me being able to actually find it. Hence the thread.

I guess I had chains or multi-location businesses in mind when I made my initial post.

The major video game chains generally carry used DVDs, and a good number of those are usually anime DVDs...

Anime Nation sells preowned DVDs.

I've also found good pre-owned selections in Gamestops.
