fruits basket? [anime-manga differences]

I just finished watching it. loved it. i heard that the manga is still ongoing, but i haven't read anything about a sequel to the anime. i've also heard that the anime is very different from the manga. does anyone have any information? thanks

The manga and anime are actually very similar. I was on the mailing list of a project to translate the manga, until the head people shut it down because the scans were being shared on kazaa, which was against the rules. Fromw hat I have read of the manga (And I have not yet read all of what was done by the group)

No sequel to the anime has been announced, but that would definitely be cool!

I just recently finished reading the 10th manga and it is so good! They left alot of good stuff out of the anime. relationships start to form and the plot thinkens. You find out some very interesting things about Akito. I totally recomend that everybody should read the manga

I love that show. the books are wonderful and the anime has the stuff like the rice ball and the crazy lady. She is so mush scaryier in the show.

i believe the manga has 2 characters that were never introduced in the anime- one is a girl, and one is a boy- they are both members of the souma family one a rooster..and i forget the other..doh..anyways...i dont think theres gonna be a 2nd series..though..you never know due to the fact that it has been pretty popular..i just dont know where the series would go and people dont wnat it to be another sm..or dbz...going on forever with a lost plot..

Fruits basket it's pretty cool. I also finished the 10th book yesterday and I was like:
"How can they leave the reader hanging like that! This is soo unfair, when is the next one coming out?God, now have to wait 'til August.

"
I was soo sad it finished there,a great cliffhanger too. The manga gets into the characters' relationship way more than in the anime. I like both, and can't way 'til the next manga comes out.

Hey, *I've* only managed to read up to volume 3. The local library doesn't carry it, as far as I can tell, and my best friend who has up to volume seven keeps forgetting to bring them over for me to read.

And is reviving a dying thread that still has potential interest so bad?

I heard that the anime ended well before the manga. So far as I know, there are only 18 volumes of the manga. I don't know if that's complete or if there are more coming.
