Sorry but this bit that you said has been bothering me for awhile. I'd just like to clear it up a bit. ^^; Shigure (dog) is 27, Kagura (boar) is 18, Yuki(rat) and Kyo (cat) are 16. Kagura and Shigure are NOT married, and Yuki and Kyo are not their kids. ^^; Kagura is actually in love with Kyo but he hates her. I actually got a little laugh out of the thought of Shigure and Kagura being married...

Er...sorry if I sound mean or if it sounds like I'm trying to make fun of what you said, coz I'm not, I just saw it and being the FB-obsessed freak I am, felt the need to correct it. ^^;

Dude. I already did call him on that one. Just because I didn't give age and relation doesn't mean I didn't correct him. You're not the only Furuba fan out there who noticed that...

To be honest, the second one was helpful. I now understand that they are definitly NOT married. (How I got that wrong from NewType, I'll have to back and check)

So let's see, so we got Shigure the patriarch who turns into a dog, and Kyo and Yuki are his two kids, if I'm right, who fight each other... A LOT...

...but then how does Kagura relate to those if she changes into a boar?

Shigure is NOT the father of Yuki and Kyou. He's the breadwinner of the household, but not a parent. In fact, the three of them are all cousins. Kagura, as Makaze said, is the obsessive semi-girlfriend of Kyou, except the love is one-sided. She's also a cousin, as I recall it.

Wait wait wait wait wait...

...they're all COUSINS!?

So let me see, the curse affects a generation in the family after a certain number of years right? So just how many freakin' cousins show up in this show? 13?

I got the Tohru, Yuki, and Kyo triangle thing going on, and I know Tohru is not affected by the curse and befriends Yuki and Kyo. But if Shigure is a cousin as is Kagura, then WHERE THE HELL ARE THE PARENTS in this show?!

This is confusing the begeebies out of me (and yes, I KNOW the simple answer to my questions is to get the manga and anime, but I just spent $1000 trying to fix my car, so I'm kinda strapped for cash, okies?)

Okay, I know I'm not supposed to double-post, but I just wanted to let the people here know that I HAVE IN FACT seen a good Fruits Baskets comedy AMV. "A Song For Everyone" is by far the best of the best, and I LOVE it!

Not only did it work well with matching songs, good editing in terms of occasional lip synching, and a great theme...

...it required little to NO knowledge of the anime or manga at all! I could understand who the characters were thanks to the selection of footage, and I never felt confused as to "the hell's going on?" Despite my lack of knowledge, I thought it was funny, original, and something that can stand the tests of time on its own!

Man, I can't believe I never got a chance to watch that until now! How the heck did I miss it?! It was even the first recommendation!

P.S. So now that I've found a good video, I'm feeling much better in the belief that good Fruits Baskets AMVs can be made. I just wish there were more of them like "A Song for Everyone"

Yes, technically, but not all of them show up in the anime. Only the manga has all of the zodiac members.

There are very few, and there is an episode about halfway through the series where a character called Momiji alludes to the reason why. I won't explain that, though, cuz it's a tiny spoiler for his character.

Does that clear things up a bit?
