Haibane Renmei (getting shiiped to me today, I heard rave reviews of it, but havn't watched yet)
Ai Yori Aoshi (comedy Romance)
Ah! My Goddess (nother comedy Romance)
Kanon (though it's only in japanese, comedy romance)
Ghost in the Shell (Cyber thriller like Akira)
Armitage III (again, another cyber thriller)
Chobits (comedy romance, can ya tell I like these things?:roll: )
Trigun (action)
Rouroni Kenshin and the OVA Samuri X (action)
Detetive Boy Conan/ Cased Closed (mystery)
.hack//sign (umm...Everquest meets slayers?)
Wolf's Rain (mostly action, but a good storyline as well)

Just so of my reccomendtations...

Personaly I believe the original ending is simply the best ending to an anime ever. The fact that it contained so little actual animation was prety daring, and realy helped create that solitary feel throughout the two eppisodes. The choice to focus on the mentality of the main charcters rather than the "physical" story makes alot of sence as that realy is what evangelion was about. The thing with the angels, third impact and all that fluff was just their to satisfy thoughs who couldnt treat eva as a drama series.

I do remember seeing Ghost In The Shell, didn't they make a series outta that?

Oh, and I've heard of Serial Experiments Lain, but don't know what it is about...anybody got a brief (2 sentences) about the series...?

Sentence 1) Really trippy Cyber-punk style anime with very unique characters.

Sentence 2) Pangalactic Gargleblasters have NOTHING on the effects on your head after watching this show!

Oh man!

I have never heard such a truer sentence! It makes Evangelion look like it had the ending of a random DBZ episode!
