Did you go to any comic book stores? I have not been to a comic book store that didn't have Berserk. Also the Borders/Waldenbooks chains carry Berserk. Not sure about Barnes & Nobles but they probably do too.Banana_Boat wrote:If i havent heard about the second season than how come im asking about it? Story wise, the manga is easy to pick up. I just kinda skipped ahead to the most recent volumes. I was going to post here and mention that I hadn't seen anything too, too, bad content wise since I started following it. But then I went through chapter 259. Yuck. I don't think I'll be able to eat for awhile after that issue.

Well, if you tried looking through 30 different stores maybe you should ask one of them if they do personal orders and have them go through the loops to get it to you (Like ordering it online).Banana_Boat wrote: If i havent heard about the second season than how come im asking about it? As for a second season of Beserk, I doubt we'll see anything till the manga is close to an end. I heard a few years back that the story was only 1/3 over with.. so now it should be 1/2 done. If it does come to be they may turn it into a long OAV series so they can tell the story more completely. Whatever the case, I'd wait another 7 years on this.. rumour before I can say its false.

Wait a sec, you live in NYC and can't find the manga you want??
Perhaps you aren't looking in the right places. I also live in NYC and never ever have to order my manga. There are tons of anime/manga stores floating about the city, mostly throughout Manhattan. You've probably heard of Forbidden Planet near Union Square, right? They recently renovated the second floor and now it is almost exclusively manga. I recently bought both of the latest Kare Kano there, and I saw all of the Berserk manga as well.
Just do a google search for "NYC manga" or "manga New York City" and I think you'll find even more stores.

i live in oregon, needless to say, there isnt a whole bunch of manga here. But since there is ALOT of foreign exchange groups through here and three is ALOT of japanese students.
You guys know why there isnt a second season? because TV tokyo wont license it. thats right THERE IS A SECOND SEASON! straight from the natives' mouth, ive heard this from my friend, hayou mitserugi, who is BIG berserk fan. there is a second season, but it doesnt run on tv in tokyo, you can only buy it and you HAVE to be 18 years or older. America has been trying to buy it since 1998, but to no avail because japan says it's totally explicit, appalling and utterly disgusting. not that there isnt any of that in the first season anyway, but as if every scene has something like that in the second season, they said, "it should never leave japanese soil, to prevent the worldwide spread of this entirely engrossed anime". Well, thats wat mitserugi said they said. he has the second season at his house and he doesnt even like to more than half of it BECAUSE it is really vulgar. so to put NASTY rumors aside, there is a second season, 19 episodes long, and WE will never see it unless we go to japan. blame the govt., fight the power!

This is some serious news, If this is indeed true, than i will try to get my hands on it as soon as possible.njamunky wrote:i live in oregon, needless to say, there isnt a whole bunch of manga here. Oh, for the love of...
Listen, that's complete bullshit. Sites like AnimeNfo.com and AniDB.net catalog every Japanese release and a comprehensive import site like CDJapan.co.jp would definitely have this "second season" available, given Berserk's massive popularity.
Why do none of these places mention more than one season of Berserk?
IT DOESN'T EXIST.

Sorry to say but he is right. I am a huge berserk fan, and I have read all the manga that has been released here so far, plus I have played the berserk dreamcast game. In both of these there is puck whick appears in the first manga book to help out guts. Remember in the anime series the very first episode where those knights are pushing around that girl, well in the manga it is puck who is being pushed around, and in reading an interview on I beleive the fifth dvd they said it was a hard desion, but they decided to take puck out of the tv series, and also puck is a very man major character in the manga after the TV series, and they just left him out so it would be very hard to go on with the series.Chocobuddha wrote:Oh, for the love of...

Also there is skull knight and for those who do not was any SPOILERS please do not read a headFrom what I know in the manga skull knight saves casca and guts, I don't know much more than that myself. I found out this information when I was looking into a season two, but sadly there is to be none. However, if you want the closes thing I came to was in the interview I saw, and the person they were interviewing, who I beleive was the producers, would have liked to make a season 2, but he never said he was or if there are any plans to. He didn't even mention the cost or if he would not. He only said he would like to. I would love for there to be a second season, or at least an OVA or movie or something. But I doubt it.
However there is always the manga which I order from
http://www.rightstuf.com/
Also if you don't like online stuff then some stories would be
Borders (I use to work there)
Barns and Nobles
They have small manga sections, but I always see Berserk there, and they do special orders, so you can order it and have it come to the store and buy it there.
Also please look into getting the dreamcast game. And the new PS2 game . This is only to be released in Japan, but I was albe to find it at Anime Expo 2005, which is also the first time I went there for all four days. The game was 85 dollars, because it was an import, but ohh well, I would give an arm and a leg for Berserk, now I just need the equipment to make it work on my brothers PS2 since I don't have one. But seriously look in those they give a good idea about what happened after the TV series. Also the TV series and the manga are very much alike there are only a few parts they change which I am happy for. So read the manga and enjoy the greatness of BERSERK!!!!
I SACRIFICE!

well wether or not my information is correct, i just wanted you guys to know wat i HEARD...as in i didnt read it or see it on tv, nor did i get any comprehensive and critical evidence on the internet. i heard it from a friend who was visiting from japan. thats all. it might not be true. maybe something got lost in translation, like theyre MAKING the season 2, but is not going to release it here, nor commercially advertise/sell it. i doubt it will even make tv tokyo, because after all, if there is ANY truth in my information, its too damn gruesome...
