I've seen it. It's a decent movie, but the plot suffers to favor the action. The dub is good though, and Patrick Stewart makes a great mad scientist.

Is it better than innocense?

It's pretty weak.

Patrick Stewart tries hard but has some of the most horrible lines ever commited to screen to work with. The rest? Meh.

I'd wait and catch the uncut version on DVD when it comes out.

I'm assuming you mean Ghost in the Shell II. I would disagree, Innocence was a better movie. It better raised and addressed significant questions, such as those of authenticity, while Steamboy vaguely raised issues of the proper use of science.

Ghost in the shell lacks everything with the exception of opulent visuals, i would rate virtually any movie above it. And the subtitles hurt.

Are you even aware of what I mean by "questions of authenticity", or why they are significant? Then there's the issue of existance sans body, and the issue of a soul existing without any sort of mortal shell. Or do souls exist at all?

Innocence raised real questions, ones without easy answers.

Steamboy was fun, I admit that, but Patrick Stewart was the highlight of the movie. He carried it almost totally.

It's all a matter of taste. Quite generalizing people. Saying it IS better makes you look arrogant.

Also this question is getting old. "is it any good?" If you want to know if it's good, go do some freekin' research, go look up rottentomatoes review, animenfo review, and yahoo movie reviews, etc.

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/steamboy/

Profesional review gives it a 6.2/10
User review gives it a 6.7/10

http://animenfo.com/animetitle,1449,mmv ... amboy.html

Animenfo user reviews give it a 7.7

http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hv&cf=info&id=1808630443

critic review gives it a B-
user review for it on yahoo is C+

You could also read a lot of short or detailed opinions about movies on these sites, when people have to ask here, I get the impression that they are internet illiterate.

Loved Alfred Molina in this movie, and I'm finally glad I saw him in an anime dub. There's alot of celebrities I'd like to see in anime dubs, and he was definately one of them.
