naruto on TV?!?!

Post by njamunky » Wed Jul 27, 2005 12:37 pm

when i first heard of this, i couldnt believe it! NARUTO ON TV!! DREAM COME TRUE! but is it really? sure, its easier to watched dubbed anime, but u dont get the rich, in-depth story which comes from a subtitled anime. So, heres my question: will naruto still rock despite being dubbed on cartoon network? i really dont want to see naruto get sucky cuz the story line is screwy.

Well... 4Kids didn't get the rights to it, so there IS hope! What's will more likely happen is that Naruto will be on TV, but also on DVD so you can get subbed versions too if you got the cash to shell out.

Which is awesome!

Moving on, how different the TV version will be from what's on the DVD is still up in the air. Stay tuned this fall for more details!

Yes, it's true; it's coming to Cartoon Network. :?

If it makes you feel better, Mark Handler (who has done excellent work with the dubs on Coyboy Bebop and FLCL) will be working on dub.

i don't think the story line is effected THAT much.. they might change a few things.. but the big picture will remain the same..

no, thats wat i meant. the story gets a little screwy with dubbed anime. i looked at, say, DBZ....they REALLY messed up the story line! maybe in some certain anime, the story is affected very little, but the fact is they still change it and GRADUALLY it becomes a big deal because GRADUALLY ther story line changes. maybe not episode to episode, but the end result is still messed up. im going to watch naruto on tv, compare it with wat i got on my computer, and see how messed up it is. otherwise, its all opinions and not fact...

i don't see how the storyline in dbz was messed up, sure, they edited out some scenes, unimportant nonetheless, just a few violent shots... unless ur syaing that takign out some of the violence and barely changing the lines of the characters changes the "story"...

and what was wrong with the "story" at the end of dbz?? I don't see how it wuz changed.

not at all.

the lines from episode to episode was very meager and i implore their hard work for keeping it as close as they did

BUT REMEMBER, its the gradual change that counts, and when you got close to 300 episodes and you HAVE to change something in each one (yes the lines, no, not the violent stuff) then it does make a BIG difference! BTW, did you know that goku was a potty mouth? big time...that got completely changed for younger viewers, but do you think that missing some prfanity episode by episode would change it all that much? not really....but its the ENTIRE series that got changed, just on that, and there are ALOT of punds made in those jokes, which are in the subtitled versions, that actually make it an action-comedy! now its just an action flik! thats why i dont like changes, thats why i like subtitled more, thats why i dont like dubbed....
