Why do you think Dragonball z is so popular?

Actually, it's 9 or 10 from what I saw. I haven't watched too much into the series but the Zabuza fight(2nd time) was 9 or 10 eps long. I'm not sure, but I'm willing to bet that the Gaara fight was probably just as long or even longer.

End of Evangelion sucks ASS and you people like it, and NO ONE complains about it. Stop bitching to the people who like DBZ. Or is it that people don't like anime that's more popular than the one they find should be at the top of the list?
Let's look at ANN's user gradings:

DBZ: Bayesian estimate: 6.05509 (Decent+.05), rank: #1210

EoE: Bayesian estimate: 8.22092 (Very good+.22), rank: #65

My problem with DBZ fans is that the gross majority of them are closed-minded towards any other anime and yet continue to espouse the superiority of their protect. I would argue that very few DBZ fans watch anything outside the show and much like the post directly above me, most of the fans who do watch other anime realize that DBZ is far inferior to any recent anime and a lot of not-so-recent anime as well.

Fixed.

And as far as the Zabuza arc in Naruto is concerned, I can confirm that it's probably the longest fight in the entire series. When the other fights take 5-6 episodes it's generally because of A, flashbacks, or B, there are 4 fights happening at the same time and they're covering each one. Note that I left out C, because each character needs 20 episodes to charge up their special move and another 10 to release it. This is because unlike with DBZ, C does not exist in Naruto nor does it in any other series of good quality.

But the topic wasn't about how great someone thinks DBZ is. It was about why it was popular. The whole close-minded DBZ fan thing is irrevelant. Me, being a DBZ fan, find that somewhat offensive, since I like other anime also. Weather DBZ is inferior to other anime is for ME to decide, not you.

I answered the original post's question in my post, you took it upon yourself to reply, and I took it upon yourself to reply back. There's nothing wrong with debate in a thread unless you're afraid of being wrong.

Also note that I didn't say all DBZ fans only watch DBZ, just most of them. I think the fact that most DBZ fans are closedminded is a big indication of what kind of audience DBZ attracts, which explains a lot about its popularity.

I'm not exactly sure what we were talking about that could be truly proven right or wrong. I only responded to you because you were pretty much saying that someone who's seen other anime would find DBZ is inferior, which isn't true. Some people like the whole emo-action thing :/

Actually, the second Zabuza fight lasted about 4/5 eps, and that's because there was a fight DURING that fight between Naruto/Sasuke/Haku.

The Gaara/Naruto one lasted between 4/6 eps.

The End of Evangelion is an awsome movie. But I doubt you'd actualy understand it as you've never seen the actual series and theirfor have no way of understanding the alternate ending which EoE was.

You mean 16 eppisodes talking about how they're gona blow each other up and then 4 eppisodes blowing each other up repetedly in a repetitive fasion :P

Let's not forget there wasn't a lot of non sense stalling in it like you would have seen in DBZ.. It gets deep into character backgrounds unlike DBZ, and it's very fascinating. In DBZ they just stare at each other spewing out non-sense that no one cares about, and your like, "JUST FIGHT ALREADY FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!"
DBZ is popular cause the fighting scenes, powerups, Super-Saiyan transformations are spectacular to watch. I also like the American dubbed soundtrack for DBZ. It really pumps you up and gets you motivated.
Yeah it does
