I found out about this movie "Diaboromon Strikes back" Or the US Title "Revenge of Diaboromon" WAY Back in 2001/2000 , whichever. I downloaded the Japanese version of the movie on the Internet in May/June 2005 I think. And now, JULY 5TH, 2005 , they're finally showing the Digimon Movie all the fans that are now probably jaded 16-year-olds, have been waiting for with bated breath for so long, if they could not Buy the IMPORT DVD from Japan . More to the point, I got that funny feeling in my stomach, the one I always used to get when I saw Digimon on Saturday mornings before it dropped in quality with "Digimon TAMERS", "Digimon FRONTIER(?)" and ect. I was an excited 11 year old kid again, rooting on my favorite Digimon.
I RECORDED This English Adaption and I have to say, that it felt pretty rushed compared to the Japanese version. It looked as though they did not cut out much from what I remember from watching it. The only problem I had, is that they did not use Joshua Seth for Taichi "Tai Kamiya" Yagami, Kirk Thonton For "Gabumon," Lex Lang / Kirk Thornton For "Omnimon," Laura Summer For "Patamon," OR Neil Kaplan for "Hawkmon." This was really annoying in terms of enjoyment of the characters.
But the plot of the movie basically stayed the same; Sure the music was different, the movie felt a bit shorter, and they did not use most the same voice actors of the previous "Digimon Adventure [English Version]" or "Digimon Zero Two [English Version]," and they didn't keep the original ending of Japanese version. Not to mention that, most of the characters from ZERO TWO and ADVENTURE didn't have that big of a role in this movie. Alas I digress. It was awesome to finally see "Diaboromon Strikes back" after all these years of Waiting. It was certainly a godsend from heaven.
