devil lady
i saw devilman some years back and thought it was pretty cool but was wondering how the devil lady series was. good bad, soso i mean the boxset at the store is a grt price but just wondering everyones opinion whether to get it or not

I was pretty entertained by Devil lady but thats because I dug the main plotline and character more then anything else.. There are a lotta useless boring scenes the anime (Scenes where nothing happens or your just like "What?"), the animation is pretty horrid at times (A very obvious error can be seen in ep 2) until episode 14, then it gets a bit better.. Much of the 26 episodes revolve around a monster of the week feel and the monsters are not much to speak of. Then there are the completely ridicules moments in the story which make you go 'wtf' but its pretty standerd stuff if you've seen any B rated Horror movies of the 80's.
On the bright side, I thought how they presented the main character and the tramua she's going through being changed into a 'Beast' well. The overlining story that holds Devil lady togather isn't that bad either. Its pretty conclusive here.
On the sub/dub front, not sure which you prefer but I'll give you my opinion on both. If you watch it in dubbed format, they seem to change a few story elements from the original so if you find yourself going "huh" thats mainly to blame.. the voices aren't that bad. The big point in voiceovers would have to be how devil lady sounds when she screams or growls. Big difference, I didn't really like it in the subbed version, too synthetic, thought the lady who dubbed Jun did that better.
Anyway, its good for a viewing but doesn't hold of for a reviewing well. If I could turn back the hands of time I'd buy it for around 30-40 dollars like I've seen it for sale nowadays.
