Yeah, it's still needed. If I had been intending on handing it over to someone else in your abscence, I would have notified you via PM.

Alas, a long lost AMV creator emerges from the depths of his pathetic life to return with a message....

I have returned!!!

At any rate, I sniffed around the website and didn't see my name there. Makes sense, as it was about 8 (or so) months ago when I volunteered for the project. Well, I'm back, and have an (almost) completed vid. In case my info was lost long ago in the forum here it is.

Creator- Radman
Track#- 28
Music- (U-2) Sunday Bloody Sunday
Anime- Hellsing

I am assuming this trasck hasn't recently been taken, but if its not, I could have a preview for you in the next few days and (if everything checks out) the final to you within the week.

Your info's on the tracklist. Where were you looking? If you have to, clear your cache and reload the page. It should show up.

But good, the sooner you can get me a completed preview the better.

If anyone has any updates, feel free to post.

As for me, I'm still looking for a solution to host the preview tracks and the FTP server, as my webspace doesn't have that much space or bandwidth (and I don't want to get another cancelled website like Angelfire did) and my computer/router setup seems to not want people connecting to my server even though I can transfer within my home network (and yes, I did try port forwarding to see if I could open it up to the outside).

If anyone has a spare FTP, or website space that you could volunteer for this, it would be greatly appreciated.

FTP and Preview

Post by zamora » Tue Aug 16, 2005 8:43 pm

 I knew that Gmail can accept big files. Because there is a contest that can recive video files in the mail. SO, maybe if we try to cordinate the day to upload. Because the mail is big but not infinite. :D.
At least for upload the previews.
Or or or or if the FTP don't work Send a Preview of 100 MB to the mail to have the best quality, and then decompres the file with VirtualDub. It's only a sugestion.
ALWAYS got the Plan B

I can live with a couple colorspace conversions, so you could use this method:

Use this script to open the exported video with AVISynth and convert it to YV12:

Code: Select all

AVISource("video.avi").ConvertToYV12()
Then open the avs file in VirtualDub, select Lagarith as the compression codec, making sure that 'RGB (Default)' and 'Always report original colorspace' are marked. Make sure the Video menu is set on 'Fast Recompress', and then save to a different AVI. This will make a much more managable file (and it won't require using a lossy compression scheme).

Hopefully I can write up a guide for this soon so there's a visual to go along with what I'm saying.
