CNAnime On the ball

Post by Fall_Child42 » Wed Aug 17, 2005 3:05 pm

Well Looks as though HobbyStar is as on the ball as they were last year. I just got the schedual...there was no mention of the AMV compitition untill 11:00 AM sunday which is listed as a repeat.

Anybody know when they had it last year? Because they will probably have it the same time...

I need to know so my sister can come watch as well, she missed my premiere of my first video at Anime north cuz she was working.

Around 6 pm, i think. It was only an hour and we got kicked out right away because the masquerade was right after. um, yeah, CNAnime doesn't seem to give a shit about the AMV Contest

I shouldn't worry about that, they hand out booklets and stuff with full scheduals at the con...I remember it being on saturday last year, but i don't quite remember what time it was. But it was definitely saturday, if that's any help to you... :?

I remember last year we had really great seats in the middle because the row hadn't been filled yet, but as more people came in they made us move down the row, so our seats weren't too great.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens...

Yep, I remember it was at 6 on Sat but ppl started to line up at like 5 because once the theatre filled you got screwed.

It's true that last year it seemed like they didn't really care abotu the amv comp, they put on the reel and 1 hour later they kicked us out. And you couldn't even really get to the mascerade then becuase the line was huge by the time the amv comp was over. We has a short thread on the org after last years comp about how dissapointing it was.

Hopefully they will put alittle more thought into this years. The hobbystar website says great prizes to be won under the AMV comp info, so IF that's true, it at least shows they are trying.

... actually I just checked the site again and it seems they removed the short paragraph of info on that AMV comp, that contained that bit about prizes so maybe not...

The people lining up in the front got screwed :x since they had to sit near the sides... The only good thing was the area where the AMV contest was held. Totally awesome and comfortable! :P :D

Not really disappointing, just how short it was... http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... 4&start=30

The prizes were from last years competition, and i don't think anyone got theirs or even knew what prizes they even gave out LOL. Big time false advertisement, but it got lots of people to enter :P The judging is done by an anime store... they could at least give out something this time around  :P

They really need to add in the AMV contest to the event schedule and realize how important it is :) The schedule looks tight on saturday.... ANGELA Concert at 4 PM on saturday... then what... AMV Contest.... at the same place?! Then MASQUERADE after, again...??!! :x :? :x and i like this *SCHEDULE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME & ALL EVENTS HAVE LIMITED SEATING. line :) :P

Go Hobbystar

Post by Fall_Child42 » Mon Aug 22, 2005 2:41 pm

Well Well Well... The scedual's out but they forgot to put the AMV compitition on it. Well I guess it's time to harrass that poor receptionist guy again!

Whoops our bad, was basically his reaction... (I'm paraphrasing here, it was atually something like there was an error on our part, there will be an ammendment givin out at the con)

He told me to E-mail the CN anime co-ordinator and I did, so I will keep you posted.

For that is my Duty!

They fixed the schedule...the contest is at 10am on Sat...gah, so early!
I have a video entered..if you were at the finals at AN you saw it...it was a runner up in the novice catagory.. "A Hunter's Requiem". I hope it got to the CN people alright, i sent it at the last minute... :?

That sucks how no awards were handed out...if you win you should get somthing. But its just nice to see your vid played...good luck to everyone who entered!
