IT experts around?? - I would need some help......

Hey any IT experts around???
I would need some help on monitorsplitting....

I really want to use two monitors for several things

But I think it would be great for using it to make AMV's!

But I can't find anything about that topic on the internet so I hoped somebody here might be able to help me.....

Do I need 2 graphic cards? Or is it possible to just use one??? Is there a special software required?? Is it true that only GForce graphic cards can do the monitorsplitting??

A lot of question...I hope somebody will be able to answer them

If a video card has two D-Sub outputs, two DVI outputs, or a D-sub and a DVI, then it's reasonable to assume that it can support two monitors.

And my Sapphire Radeon X300SE seems to have the necessary software (and a DVI jack I'm not currently using), so no, it's not just the GeForces.

Is a special driver or software required??? Is it possible to have 2 graphic cards in one computer? Don't they disturb each other?

I guess your card was very expensive?

Do you use 2 monitors?

In order: depends on the video card and OS, if the BIOS allows it, and again if the BIOS allows it.

I personally use dual montors. I've got an nVidia GeForce 440 MX. It has two VGA outputs, and when combined with the software from nVidia, it works quite well.

Newer gaming machines use SLI technology. Which is 2 graphics cards running at the same time. One graphics card does the top part of what you see and other does the bottom putting less strain on 1 card so it is suppose to make games run faster. But thats only if you have a motherboard compatible of SLI.

Many newer graphic cards support dual monitors, check the manufacturers specs. Windows xp and 98 support multi monitors, I have seen four monitors on one machine. My older comp has an onbord graphic and I added a pci graphic card so I now can use two monitors, I only have one hooked up right now. Any computer using windows in the last few years can use multiple vid cards and multiple monitors. Type in "dual monitors" on Google search engine and I think you will find all the help you need.

No. I've seen machines that have four or so graphics cards for 2x2 or 4x1 (or whatever) setups.

It doesnt make a difference what OS you run. What matters is the software you use, which usualy comes as part of a driver package from the manufacturer of your gpu.

I just installed my Radeon 9200, and I was wondering if I could hook up my TV to it with an S-video cable and use that as my second moniter?
