This will be my second time running the AMV competition for Wai-con and am expecting it to improve on the numbers we had last year.
The rules and conditions have been revised for this year, so please take a few moments to take them in to ensure that your video is accepted into the competition.
Unlike last year, I have opened the competition to international entries this year. if you outside of Australia and wish to enter, Please e-mail me.
Edit - online entries open for anyone. would still prefer mail entries for local videos however.
Rules and Regulations:
- Videos entered into Previous Wai-con Competitions will not be permitted
This is a chance for creator to showcase their latest works. Not to try again for a prize if one was not obtained previously. - Source footage must be mostly Anime/Video game footage
This is an Anime music video competition, having a large amount of non related media in the video defeats the purpose of the competition. If included, please keep to a minimum. - All participants in the creation of the video must be included in the registration
Please keep it fair, give credit where credit is due. Anyone who took part in the creation of the video is to be included in the registration. - Max of 3 videos per person/group
This is to prevent the competition being overrun by one particular party. If you have more that you want to enter, there’s always next year ^^ - There should be no intro/outro sequences on the video
The video should be free of these as in cases it can detract from the effect of the video, and in certain cases may not identify the creator/s properly. Wai-con will be creating introductions for the videos, if you have requests, please e-mail me. - Videos must be suitable for younger audiences
The con is a family orientated event, Please keep this in mind when you are creating the video. - PANIC reserves the right to refuse any video entry into the competition for any reason.
While the committee will be fair and lenient towards all videos, if a video is deemed unsuitable for any reason, it will be removed. - Deadline for submissions is November 30th, 2005
This allows us to prepare all videos for screening at the convention, as well as carry out preliminary judging.
- Please do not send in your only copy of the video, It will not be returned after the event.
- Ensure that the media you send in (CD-R, DVD) is labeled with your or your studios name and that the completed registration form is included.
Wai-con will accept a variety of file types for the videos. These are as follows:
- Video: Mpeg (1+2), AVI (Divx, Xvid, HuffYUV), WMV, QuickTime
- Audio: PCM, Mpeg layer 2/3
- ATTN: AMV coordinator
