"I Walk Alone" (Otakon 2005; Drama)

Allo!

Took a bit of time to get the monster encoded, but it's available! "I Walk Alone" was our ("our" being <A HREF="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 6">Meri</A> and <A HREF="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... >myself</A>) entry for Otakon 2005's AMV contest. It played in the final contest as an entry in the "SERIOUS/DRAMATIC" category... which was easily the strongest group of dramatic videos I've ever seen in a single contest in my life. Holy. Crap. If you haven't already checked out "<A HREF="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... are</A>" (the winner of the category), by all means, drop what you're doing and check it out (be sure to come back here, though ^^;;). Amazing.

Anyway, this is a video <A HREF="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 6">Meri</A> and I made together. It's essentially a fangasm of some of our favorite characters of all-time in a giant, oozing pile of shounen angst (*insert emo cry here*). I've been singing this video's praises since I first saw it at the Otakon prescreenings. It is easily one of the best multi-character profiles I've ever seen. Your concept is ridiculously solid and well executed. It's just too damn good. Bravo you two!

Oh, and the real title of the video is actually: Spike, Vash, & Kenshin Walk Alone on the Boulevard of Broken Shinji, Naota, & Trunks

I can still remember the one guy calling down curses on DJI after I inserted "Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you" in the appropriate spot at the prescreening...

Yeah, "shounen angst" basically says it all... but it's WELL DONE shounen angst. I approve.

Oh man that was awesome. Especially to that song. I love how you did 3 animes at a time for each section of the song and than in the last minute of the song showed how each anime had the ending of its story. Awesome idea/concept and editing was awesome. Quality was great as well.

Very cool. The wide selection of anime worked very well in some places, not so well in others, and, as OtakuForLife pointed out, the matching shots were great. Easily the best video I've seen done to this song.
