I was amazed to hear Onizuka say "or read in manga" about Miyabi looking like Rei from Evangelion. He began to like Miyabi because he really loved Rei. It made GTO feel so lifelike, as if he is a real person that watches anime.

Calm down - they basically used the South Park-style of animation for one scene. The kids from SP aren't actually in the anime or anything.

Although, when Naota's teacher's car gets smashed (episode... 3, I believe), run through it in slow motion - there's a Kenny toy in the flying debris.

Yomi and Ayu

Post by ShadowOfTwilight » Mon Aug 22, 2005 2:09 am

Somewhere in Azumanga Daioh there's an ep where Yomi's dreaming about how great she is (that's just Yomi, lol). In her dream she mocks one of the characters from Lupin III. It's awesome.

Several eps later, she walks in with a new hairstyle. Everyone asks her why. Apparently, Yomi had been keeping her hair long so she could be like that same character... but now she cut it short, so she can look like Ayumi Hamasaki.

"You don't look like Ayu!" / "Yes I do! What are you talking about?"

....AZD is so weird. I love it.

If you want Gekigangar refrences try watching Martian Successor Nadesico. It's full of them :!:

In Gravitation Shuichi, the main characters, holds up a manga that is actually an issue of Gravitation the manga and says it's his favorite. =) And of course Excel Saga mentions the creator throughout the show.
