Well at a quick glance, nothing else is in the John Basset Theatre until 4pm, so I'm hopeful that the comp will be longer than 1 hour this year.

I just got back from the CN Anime AMV comp, and it was very disappointing, not in video quality of course, but in organization and technical aspects. But more on that later, right now I just wanted to point out the winners so people who weren't there know.

BEST COMEDY: Love Hina - Mood Rings
BEST ACTION: Spriggan - Die another Day
BEST DRAMA: Vampire Hunter D - Hunters Requim
BEST MISC - Various - Otherside (yay, me! lol)
BEST IN SHOW - Cromaite Rhapsody.

All The videos I saw were great, congrats too all!

Ah that stuff was great. I personally think Dedicated To Sammy was the best comedy but people who don't know about the .org didn't get the joke as much as some others did. But damn it was still a riot they laughed hard. Lol

Awesome job, congrats Moonie :)

Heh, sad that I didn't make it there this year... again.

I do hope they have a proper contest next year. Hell, from what I remember, it's usually been... well... about the most popular event there. Dunno how it was this time though, but I hope it was.

Cheers.

Just got back and such, tired as hell.

Here's the list in order... I only copied the first names and the titles.

1) Stephen (Prince of Tennis) - Hit in the U.S.A
2) Me (AZU Daioh) - Dedicated to Sammy aka ASM (Me Parts only)
3) Andrew (Evangelion) - Shinji's Sonata
4) Tony (Dunno Anime) - Duel of the Beauties
5) Flora (Saiyuki) - Cleanse (Only video i actually enjoyed :) No offence to the other creators :P )
6) Ben (Various) - Overloader a.k.a Techno Bass Booster
7) Ellen (Love Hina) - Mood Rings (Won Best Comedy)
8) Jeremy (Spriggan) - Ominae Will Die Another Day (Won Best Action)
9) Amanda (Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust) - A Hunter's Requiem (Won Best Drama)
10) Michael (Various) - Otherside (Won Best Misc)
11) Todd - (Cromartie High School) - Cromartie Rhapsody (Won Best of Show)

CNAnime has outdid itself this year! Most crappiest, technical support in an AMV Contest EVER :) Or, just not giving a shit this year :o

1) Synching.... like OMG?! Seriously, WTF?
2) BADASS Equpiment
3) ENCODING QUALITY?!
4) Wow, 10 am?
5) All Videos Shrunk, yay ^_^
6) Where the hell is the organization?
7) Laziness on the mind!

Um, congrats to everyone who entered! and the Angela Concert was totally awesome!! It totally made up for the horrids of viewing a very half-assed presentation at 10 am... :)

Hey Moon, Mood rings had a good reaction, alot of people laughed at all the key moments.

Onto the rant...

Yeah, CN did a horrible job of running the comp this year, even though I missed the first half of it. I mean the comp started at 10 right, it wasn't in the scheduele, so when I finally got into the convention, around 10:15 because the line was so long and they didn't open the doors til like 10 exactly, I ran straight to the John Basset theatre, only to find it empty. So I thought maybe I was wrong, maybe the comp didn't start at 10. So I asked one of the anime volunteers who said the comp was already going on in Theatre 1, when I got there the Sayuki video was on.

At first I was flaming the Sayuki vid, not because it was bad, but beacuse it had these really REALLY ugly lines that screwed up the picture. At first I thought it was an ugly effect, then rendering gone wrong. When the next video started I realized, CN sucks. The lines which distrorted like 40% of the screen were on EVERY video, it was a problem on their end.

I was already pissed it wasn't in the John Basset theatre, that was the only good thing about the comp, now the play it without caring it looks f-ed up. The JBT was empty, they totally could have had it there, and it could either way the least they could have done was have it be 2 hours long.

Last year I accepted excuses for CN, but seriously they don't have that many events to disregard one like this.

Anyone else who went, what do you think?

Oh also, did anyone make it to the masquerade? I heard they didn't even have a co-ordinator for it a few weeks ago.
