What's your anime for today?

Post by older_gohan » Sat Aug 27, 2005 11:30 pm

I know everyone of us tend to have a anime we are infactuated with at certain times in our lifes. So my question is what's the aniem your infactuated with right now and why.

Ah! My Goddess

I cannot think of a more perfect romantic/comedy than Ah! My Goddess. The combination of animation with a solid script and great voice actors makes this anime something that you become addicted to. Sure it may sound like every other anime but really this offers appeal to all kinds.

Fruits Basket is the perfect anime for me. I love the romance, comedy, and the cuteness of this show

Heck! I love everything about Fruits Basket!

Right now I want to see more X. The plot hasn't really taken off just yet and there's still a lot of talk about destiny. But despite this, I'm looking forward to more.

Kare Kano recently earned a spot in my top five faves. I loved it (except the ending). I loved almost all of the visual gags especially how Yukino would suddenly turned chibi whenever Arima appeared. For some reason, that never got old for me. Plus the show gets even more amusing when it starts to look like the money is running out and the crew is getting desperate.

Ending? What ending?

That was definitely my anime of last summer, and still rightly enjoys the privelege of being perhaps my 2nd favorite. I like it. It's genuine enough and has a wonderful mix in terms of everything (characters, moods, humor, episode 19, art styles, episode 19). I loved the fact that the art style didn't stay consistent at any point for longer than 30 seconds. Something always changed, something always went somewhere off tangent, chibis all over the place, episode 19, weird little touches and drawing media, use of actual stylized photographs, episode 19.

Did I mention episode 19? Yeah.

Forget anime of the day - my anime of the entire last year has been Monster. Do I really need to go into it? I would say Monster (and by recent extension, Urasawa's subsequent and even possibly more remarkable 20th Century Boys) has as much influence on my tastes in manga and anime as King Crimson does on my tastes in music. I think that should say enough to those who know something about me :)
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Well, Naruto is my absolute favorite, I like the fighting style. Especially the characters, for example...Sasuke,Neji,Itachi and Sakura. Those are my favorite characters, another reason why I like the show. Plus the storyline is pretty cool since each episode has some kind of adventure in it. It rules!!!

Lately I've been really into Rurouni Kenshin (halfway through!). So while that is my current favorite, my overall top four consists of X, Witch Hunter Robin, Fruits Basket, and Fullmetal Alchemist. Kenshin may be the fifth addition to the favorites list (I can't rank them 1st, 2nd, etc because they're all pretty different from each other and I find it hard to compare them).

Cyanna- Oh, X is so wonderful. I highly doubt it will disappoint you, especially if you love character development.

Bubble Gum Crisis 2040, I just gotta see the friggen end. And well I am still hunting for Last Exile Disk 7, that one has gone on simply too long. On the plus side, after about 2 years of floundering, I finally saw the last three episodes of Trigun.

Recently I borrowed out Steel Angel Kurumi, and now it's my favourite Anime of the moment. ^^

It's a really cute show, except for the random panty shots and the fact that Kurumi has gigantic breasts. >< But you get over that fact, because the animation in the show is just awesome! And the opening theme is very cute too. ^^ Mi-ru-ku-ru-mi!

Oh, and you'll fall in love with Karumi's voice - it's so cute how she sort of does these little noises. But her dub voice is awful. ><
