i think it also depends on how experienced you are and what you might be trying for the 1st time. like i am working on my video now and its the 1st time that i am using masking techniques...so the further i get the longer it takes to find an effecient way of working. like right now....each time i find a character shot i want to cut out i export that to photoshop...spend 10-20 minutes "cutting" the image out (depending on how clean i want it) and then pull it back into premiere. this adds a lot of hours to the total project time but i'm sure the next time i do it i'll be more aware of what i'm gonna do & how to do it
