Would Virgin Black be under that style? It's doom metal, but the vocals are more operatic than screaming.

and all my nightly dreams

No Type O Negative? Although they are pretty funny compared to the more serious stuff people have been listing. :)

while its a cross between Doom and gothic, i highly reccomend Draconian.

Arcane Rain Fell is very emotionally charged music, and so is Where Lovers Mourn. both cds are excellent, and i would advocate getting your hands on them if at all possible, by whatever means!

Tristania have a lovely darkness to them.

Epica and Leaves Eyes are alot of fun

Midnattsol are beautiful, give them a listen.

Msot of the male fronte dgotihc bands like sentenced and paradise lsot sound kind of the same but they're ok.

sLiPKnOt Iz WeLl GuD iNnIt, nah only joking
I'd rather be at a Blind Guardian concert.

yeah, sure, you don't know any gothic metal bands, how can I tell? because you used the word people as a synonym for the word bands.

Sirenia

lead by Morten Veland (ex-Tristania) this is definitely worth checking out

Oh how convenient. A theory about God that doesn't require looking through a telescope.
