Hi folks - congrats to all the winners. That was first AMV event I've attended and despite the lousy projector, the video's were pretty amazing. I'm pretty pleased to see my first ever amv making the cut - certainly inspired me to start thinking up more cheesey Prince of Tennis videos - well maybe no more PofT but definitely cheese. Oh yeah and the Cromartie Rhapsody video just had me howling, awesome job!

So now that we've totally complained about everything that went wrong, how many more people aren't going to enter next year?

I know even though I was upset at alot of parts of the con, I have totally boycotted it yet, and as long as I'm actually attending I will definately continue entering AMV's.

I'm not sure but from what I remember during the contests credits I'd guess there were only around 25 entries this year.

There was a good turnout this year, I'd hate see the audience suffer as the amount of entries decrease to the point where everyone wins.

What's everyone else think?

Silver letter.

Silver@hobbystar.com wrote:Dear Sir/Madam,
I was forwarded your concerns by the person who runs the AMV portion for me.
We have yet to make an announcement as to why last year's winners were not
contacted and why we moved the event out of the John Bassett.

All I can say at this time regarding "last year's winners" was that if you
recall last year, the event started late as a number of handicapped people
were pushed aside by some attendees who turned out in fact to be those who
entered into the AMV. When our staff tried to explain the situation to the
crowd, we were ignored and a very childish chant began.
This really bothered the AMV staff as they went to great lengths to put the
AMV in the John Bassett so maybe you can understand their feeling of
disgust at that time. Whether those winners will be contacted or not is up
to the AMV staff and I trust in their decision.

As for this year's winners,
we do have numerous DVD prizes for the winners including Genshiken vol 1
w/box and a few other titles to be distributed.
So you may announce that on your public forum to cool any speculation.

Thanks for your time and patience and good job on the Cromartie Video,

WHA?!! I don't recall anything of the sort... maybe with the rude ass volunteers you had, but hey, who cares, right? ...Are you saying that last year's winners were responsible for what happened? :? There was NO Announcement made upon this issue or any others on the site(including list of winners)....Ignored?! And if this was what happened last year, then I feel that this years contest was in retaliation, which is just wrong! :x  :x :x

I would email you this, but you'll end up ignoring me, just like the previous emails sent. :x

I don't remember that either. Even if it did occur everyone shouldn't suffer for one two assholes.

I'm with you, I just hope this Con No Baka kicks off well, so we won't be limited to one good Ontarian Contest at AnimeNorth.

But I'm gonna shut up now, so this thread will die *scouts honor*
