I guess some of the action parts were not bad. But somehow the calm b/w work better in my eyes when it comes to the characterexposition, but there's no Warheart amv without at least a little bit funky action. Thanks for the comments.T800-101 wrote:what can I say? exellent one! My favorite parts are all the vocal or better to say the colourful scenes especially the "eye"-scene
great timing, nice work!

After reading the comments and watching it a few times, I saw the story element you were trying for, but the effects detract from it, I'm busy watching that and the story goes by unnoticed. I do however like the B/W and color contrasts for the different parts of the song. I imagine its a lot clearer if you've seen the series though. The effects were impresive, although... It's just not what my preconceptions lead me to expect. I was expecting a more.... impressive visual trick with the borders in the beginning. I haven't seen a lot of video's who use anything besides a bar to make it widescreen or crop out subs, while these were jagged and broken, maybe trying to signify something more than just the little role they play. THe black waves or however you would describe them about 3 minutes into was the only part of the video that bothered me. It seems like they should have covered the entire screen, maybe being thinner lines, or used in place of just a white flash.
Not what I expected, but still very impressive, definitely another one for the collection.

That may be cause the my videos don't put the drama into the forground, usually I try to use a certain drama fragment as the basis for my storyboard so I don't have to think of were to use which scene. Cause it's really hard to decide what "random"scene you want to use if you don't have a concept. THe storyelemts are more in the background like you already noticed cause it's also just for the people who search for them. Most people may say my videos are shallow but thats not the case at all. It's all a matter of what you look for when watching my amvs. The effects are for the effect lovers, drama for the dramalovers and action for the actionfans. And the amv for myself I guess.Orwell wrote:After reading the comments and watching it a few times, I saw the story element you were trying for, but the effects detract from it, I'm busy watching that and the story goes by unnoticed.
Well first question what did you expect then ? JCD told me that he thinks most of the effects were to colorful do you think the same or what were you expecting before watching it ? About the borders, well I tried to make the image look like a movint painting with so I used these withered borders and the brushstrokes. The have also a symbolic meaning like you already noticed. Since all the scenes that use that effects tell of his way dealing with solitude and loss it's like the symbol for his scared soul gambling with life.[/quote]Orwell wrote:I do however like the B/W and color contrasts for the different parts of the song. Yeah you're right the blackscreen was just in one layer of the image since I didn't want to interupt the flow of the video to much but still sync the drums, but I guess I failed in this case I won't use that matter of sync again I think it's really a bit distracting.Orwell wrote:The black waves or however you would describe them about 3 minutes into was the only part of the video that bothered me. Thanks I'm glad you like it. But I still want to know what you expected.Orwell wrote:Not what I expected, but still very impressive, definitely another one for the collection.

Damn good shit. I can't really find anything to complain about, and that's unusual. The quality almost makes up for the size.
