Hmmm, I dunno, this is really hit or miss for me. It seemed a bit too random for my taste, and I didn't like the incorperation of live action footage (namely because I tend to drift away from music videos that simply show the dude singing). Still, this is the best attempt at incorperating the two that I've ever seen. I also liked your use of dramatic scenery, but then again, every time there was a dramatic scene, it was followed by a random scene involving substanceless fluff. I'm very torn about what to think.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

Awesome editing job.... but I'm not sure I actually like the video or not yet... There doesn't realy seem to be a point to the video besides having a bunch of anime along with the original video, using very creative editing techniques. it seemed more like a show off of your capabilites as an editor I think. Not that its a bad thing, but it makes the video have little replay value to me, since I like moody and or story elements in videos unless its either fun action, or fun upbeat. I guess if I thought the song was as legendary as other people here I might like it more ;p

Basically loved the editing, as I always do with you, but the video didn't seem to do it for me either, at least at the moment. Maybe it will grow on me.

I can't stop singing this song whenever I'm out and about walking :P

This hits a certain string inside me and I can't get enough of it.

Seeing this at AWA was really something and I think you did a great job with the video. Like some others said, a couple of scenes seem random when compared to the lyrics and such, but you still manage to keep the overall atmosphere. Good stuff! :P

It's not a big deal, the video was show to the conv' 8-) It's the most important ^^ But thx :p
silver_moon wrote:Wow, that was really cool. Your vids never cease to amaze me. The scenes of the microphone and the singer's mouth were repeated too often for my tastes, but the editing was just fantastic. 5/5

Thanks :) You're not alone to think the singer's scenes are too much show but I admit I like it ^^
keezo wrote:I really love this song and your whole idea was just excellent. This is your best video this year and that's for sure. Your editing style is unique.

..french AMV makers pwn! 8-)

Pwolf wrote: love how you incorporated the live action footage, not that many people do that and i thinks it gives an interesting touch. other then that, i didn't really like it that much :/ great editing, but the video didn't do it for me.

Pwolf

PS: is it just me or does the audio sound like it could be much better?
Thanks for your op
About the music quality, it's ripped from the original CD, I don"t think I failed, it seems me good :? But Foo Fighters' band have a special sound. However I know the sound is low in my coding
Warheart wrote:This video is terrific. The version you sent to the connichi was already totally awesome and made me ask myself why this only got 4th place, but this is even way better. The masks are great and I especially like the use of Beck since it fit in very well. Excellent work
Not a big deal, the video was show too ^^ Thx
doughboy wrote:Ditto. The high degree of various footage killed any emotional investment I could have, so to me it was just a generic clip show to a song I'm not fond of. Technically impressive, but pretty dull beyond that.
I didn't want choose just one anime for this song, It didn't work for my idea. I didn't edit my video on a specific anime story (It seems me the more easy way to a video, more to choose a real thema - But I do it too often) I wanted neutral scenes and elements to have just the emotionnal side, without the time to know why and how ; just observation scenes, without explanations. That was my big challenge... I can understand some people don't attract by this, I'm a little disappointed but I understand :)
Lord Rae wrote:Normally including footage from the video is grand scale cheating and would result in my saying thumbs down....

but putting it into the anime was clever and very well done, not often overshadowing the anime or the editing which is critical in fx centered amvs.

This one is fantastic.
Summanaro wrote:I liked it, but I felt that it needed to be more "on beat". It's just that the song was going like... wha-fast, and you couldn't keep up with or something. Not that I'm saying that you didn't in all parts, just in some.
ahah ^^ Trust me, I could keep the rythm, locate ALL the beats :P Your view is very funny, EVERYTIME, some people say my videos are too much fast, too sync, ... too random T_T. Sync on the beat seems me not essential in musics videos, the most important is too keep the general rythm. It's more easy to sync all the music sound, it help us to edit ; the opposite is more complicated, I'm sure. Besides It's hard for me to edit without this beats marks (That's why I admire goods music videos edited with calm songs like "Beautiful Earth" - I hope I could success this kind of videos) So, I'm satisfy to have sync a less the video, even it's again very fast.

I reply to others later...
/me is late to his job XD
