Which channel is the anime on?

Post by Tenshi K. Tama » Sat Oct 08, 2005 2:11 pm

Hey guys,i've wondering what channel/station is all this anime on?

I know [adult swim] on CartoonNetwork (11:00pm-6:00am),but I live in Georgia,America so anyone mind helping a girl out?'Cause I know is that stupid tojust go out and buy a DVD for an anime they never even seen for the first time.
Right?
I never thought that there would be the day...when this this sig would be upgraded.

Depends on what anime you're looking for. I know of three...4kids (that would be the Fox channel Satuday mornings), KidsWB (Saturday mornings) and Cartoon Network.

There is also ADV's The Anime Network, though not all satellite/cable companies have that channel...

ADV's TAN Anime Network On Demand. You need digital cable to get this + you'd have to subscribe and pay $6.95 a month. You can watch what they have available whenever you want, and like a VHS/DVD you stop, pause, rewind, fast forward. The lists of anime are (currently) separated into five categories; Action Zone, Bento Beat Box, Giant Robots, Girl Power, and Super Happy. Unfortunately these lists aren't as big as you're expecting. Also the list of anime titles is supposed to change every month.

The titles sometimes but rarely change, but every anime gets a new episode and loses an old one every two weeks. Super Happy is not on the list at the moment.

Also, you can also view anime "On Demand" under certain Premium networks, like Starz. The only two series on there at the moment are Hellsing and Technolyze (or whatever it's called), plus there are various anime movies on various Premium channels.

I got word from someone that Techtv is licsenced to Chobits.
And one of my other friends told me it was on a big channel 755(I'll have to look up the station,I have Charter)but so far it only comes on Friday at midnight.(And all I saw was Neon Genesis and Sugar Hill)As for that all I know that shows anime is:Cartoon Network(toonami,[adult swim]),4kids,WB,and that's it.

Toon Disney has a programming block known as Jetix which features some anime. Certain movie channels, like Encore Action or Starz!, show anime from time to time, as well as the Sci Fi Network.

As a side note, regarding your earlier remark about purchasing DVDs that you have not seen, some animes aren't broadcast on any American TV station. Sometimes you just gotta take the gamble and buy a DVD that you think might be good, even if you haven't seen it. You might love it, you might hate it, or you could be somewhere in the middle. My point is, if you only buy anime you've seen on TV, you'll miss out on some great stuff.
