Final Fantasy AC: Fate

Post by MajinSamuraiX » Fri Oct 14, 2005 7:42 pm

Hello all!

I have just finished uploading my remastered AMV of an older vesion. Before you start running away, just please, give it a try. I have put in a lot more work with editing, and the quality is of a much higher standard.

AMV: Fate
By: Barez a.k.a MajinSamuraiX
Footage: Final Fantasy Advent Children
Music: Nightwish - Ghost Love Score
Size: 216MB
Link: http://files.filefront.com/Fate_DivXavi ... einfo.html

I also have this video in the sexy 720x480 aspect ratio, but it comes to like 356MB, so I will only upload it and give a indirect link here if the feedback is good.

If possible, I would greatly appreciate if you could give me some feedback, or an opinion. Thank you and Enjoy.

Barez

Sorry, but I found the video to be rather boring. It seemed to be a lot of long running action scenes with not much actual editing in there that didn't match the tone of the music. There also seemed to be very little actual sync with the music.
Final Doom "Amazing things will happen here soon."

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Substance "Everyone knows that it's a dangerous substance."

Sorry, but I can't be bothered with files this large unless they have "HELL" somewhere in the title.

Hm, maybe this is true with the first motorbike scene, and only because it fitted well with the music, but the rest was all edited a lot. Timing was sped up and slowed down on certain clips, I messed around with it a lot by cutting it up. And a lot of it I thought synced well with the music.

Could you maybe single out a few specifics? So I could take a look, and take on board what has been said. And hopefully improve on it in the future. Thank you for watching though and taking the time to give me your opinion, much appreciated.

I thought the music in the end was very blood-pumping. Square-enix could've used that music.

Quality was good.

However, overall, I think the video leaves something to be desired. Editing-wise, I'd say average. One thing I've learned in editing is that you have to be consistent. There was a few sequences that I thought was well-edited but most of the time the video leaves me hanging.

Well, starting from the beginning, the first few seconds looked good with a couple of quick shots timed to the beats of the music, but then things just slowed down in the pacing of the video. I don't mean to say that there wasn't much editing done, but there were some long action scenes that were edited in sequence that made it feel more like I was watching the actual movie with a different music in the background rather than an AMV. Anyway, one of the worst things to do in an action video is spend too much time on any one particular scene, which brings up a problem when trying to make a 9 - 10 minute video with a 90 minute video source. It would be difficult for me to point out specifics about this video. My main issue with it is that I like action videos to be faster paced and more varied in their content. I also didn't like the selection of music for this video. While there were some strong beats in the music that matched with the action, there were also some softer moments in the music that clearly didn't match with what was shown on screen, like when the singing started at 1:18.
