Anime Destiny 2005 Contest Finalists

Judging is complete, and the results are in! Although there was some concern on whether we'd get enough entries to run a decent contest, in the clinch we ended up with 43 total qualified submissions. But that figure disguises the real story: once we sat down and started seriously viewing the submissions, we were universally amazed at the consistently high quality of the videos entered.

In particular, Action, perenially a difficult category for creators, judges, and fans alike, was chock-full of amazing entries, and Romance/Sentimental was universally superb.

Although selecting finalists is always a harrowing process, the overall quality of the entries made trimming down each category to fit our time limitations even tougher than expected.

I also want to mention that we received a number of excellent entries that we would love to show, that we believe would be very competitive and a large portion of our audience would enjoy, but were unable to include in the contest due to adult content. As with last year, we are a small convention, yet we expect a high proportion of congoers to be parents with small children, and we have to err on the side of caution.

We will do our best to run an overflow time for all submitted videos, but especially to highlight these excellent entries.
