Quaestion about Kakurenbo: Hide and Seek

First I thought this was excellent. It was creepy and interesting and kept my eyes glued to the screen.

Anyhoo...I have a question about the ending.

I couldnt see the last scene very well. Who did they show in the "battery" chamber at teh end? It seemed like it might have been the girl/demon who handed the mask to the boy at the end. Was it a skeleton like husk?

It looked like the demons made a game of capturing the kids and attaching them to their "generator" which sucked out their life force to power the light in their city. By the time the "batteries" were running low it was time for a new game.

The last boy became the 5th demon and he was the boy who was it when the new game started?

1st Question:
It was the chubby boy showing that since the game started again that the children were dying and they needed more 'batteries.'

2nd Question:
I thought they were all just masks.

Yes,it was that boy and the first 5th demon was actually his sister cause she won the last game,so she bacame the 5th deman and know he is.

And now I have a question:
Didn't the parents of the lost children get worried that the kids didn't return?

I would never let my kids go there,not even just so much as myself!!!

This is a nice creepy anime, best viewed in a dark room. They did a great job with the cgi, the stoyy is good, I wish it were longer. I found the dvd at best buy. I'll post a few screecaps.

That was majorly creepy. What happened to the little girl, I wonder?

Does anyone know what the imagery means? I'm pretty sure the moths are meant to represent the souls of children. (I seem to remember hearing somewhere that moths were believed to be the reincarnations of young children.)

And is it just me, or did those demons look like machines? Especially the one with the wheel on its back.

I think the demons were mechanical. Sort of reminds you of The Matrix doesn't it.

Hello!!!!!Read!!!!!!The girl was his sister that he was looking for because she won the last game and became the fifth demon,now her brother,who won the current game and is the fifth demon now,but if you mean after the new game started I don't know!!!!
