I started watching anime when I was 19 and my roomate brought me to a meeting of our college anime club. I've loved it ever since.

Started between 3 and 5 with Speed Racer and Voltron. Sort of put it off until I watched DBZ at 6 AM on a saturday morning (before it was on Cartoon Network), but I still didn't really pay much attention to the whole genre until Gundam Wing aired. That was the first show I truly appreciated as anime.

I was about 7 years old when i got into the world of anime. Astro Boy (Tetsuwan Atom the original 1980's version) became the first of many Anime series to enter my life. I remember chanel surfing one Saturday morning trying to find something good to watch, and there it was... it was sooo cool, well i thought so anyway. And i was hooked and i never missed an episode. It became the first of many lol....

I was ten when my brother showed me the sub of AKIRA...

I was afraid of the dark and cities for three years.... :(
Why do people complain about things? Why can't they just be happy that they were made for them?
I respect everyone's right to not like something, but complaining about it will acomplish nothing...

Was pretty young, 12-13ish I guess. Sailor Moon was totally new on tv around here, and initially I only watched because they were peusonaked during transformation, but I eventually got hitched and sorta moved on, although I did develop a sense of taste with time.

Eek...let's see...

I'd occasionally watch stuff like Speed Racer and G-Force (yes, G-Force) when I was like 6-9, and then I discovered Sci-Fi's Saturday Anime feature sometime in late '95 or early '96, which fully exposed me to the fact there was a whole lot of something out there that could be called Japanese animation (heck, I remember when 'Japanimation' was a common term). Then I watched Sailor Moon during the Summer of '96, Samurai Pizza Cats in Fall '96, Voltron the following Spring when Toonami premiered, and then it kind of went dormant until Robotech came along (I came in during the Masters saga, so it was like February '98). Then I just followed Toonami semi-faithfully, although I never got into Kenshin or Tenchi at that point (and for the record, I'm still not into Kenshin).

So generally, I was 10 or 11 when I first realized what anime was. I didn't start seriously getting immersed in it until I was 16, though. And to be completely honest, the thing that resparked my interest back in 2002 were AMVs.

You know, there are a lot of people that started out on Akira.

Speed Racer and Voltron were the first ones I watched at 8 years old. Didn't really get into it until 14 when Gundam Wing came out on CN.
