That's a really good point. But I think it's a function of any group over a certain size. At least, that's been the case at every forum / site I've belonged to or read that gets over a couple of thousand members. I don't know whether anyone else's experience bears this out, but mine seems to. It's the small town vs. big city effect.

And really... I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. There are people here whom I think are interesting and that I'll never get to know because I don't go to the same chatrooms, or whatever. But I don't think I'm entitled to know everyone, either. These groups can interact if they have a reason to - MEPs can cross lines, for one thing - but we aren't all cooped up in a tiny incestuous group with no new blood, forced to listen to the same people in absolutely every thread. I've been in forums like that, too, and that sucks in its own way.

So. Yes, that is true, but I wouldn't say that's a unique problem of the org, or even a problem at all. Still, well said. I don't think that's brought up much.

Yea, I like the idea too even if it might be accompinied by some problems but hell, screw the problems, try it out, see what happens, if it fails I don't see it irking people more then the banners now. I never really saw the idea of having banners for the site that I'm currently on as a good piece of advertisment anyway... since I'm already there and looking at the site, useing the site that its advertising.

I thought banners were supposed to bring people too webpages by placing them on webpages other then themselves. That being said I enjoy looking at them once in awhile purely for entertainment value but I'd find them even more enjoyable if they advertised peoples works in some ways. Maybe someway of having each member be able to have one banner of their work in circulation at any given time. Would give the members something else to do "Now which vid do I want to advertise this time" and it would be fair to all members (As to not to stroke the ego).

Well, guess thats what irks me about the .org. The disappointment of the .org not making good use of things already in place... like Banners.

I don't like the fact that I can't upload anything.

I've been trying for weeks to upload a vid, but I can't connect to the server.

That's right...I'm complaining.

Personally if we are going to have a 10 ten list that based on more current popular video, I've been pushing for it to work more like Music top ten lists and thus as it gets older, has less ops, etc it moves down the list.. (drops with less and less popularity)

At least this way we don't seem the same stuff linger for years and years. (For that a All time top teon list would be fine)....

There's an #AMV community, the journal community, the old OT community, the various studios community, demonseals community, the 'i go to this con' community, etc. There is no org community however. Just to pick semi-random examples, when's the last time you've seen Inthesto, kitsunebeolnet, JaddziaDax, and Arigatomina talking together? They're parts of different sub communities and rarely interact, even when they post in the same topic it's rare to see them directly addressing each other.
I am wholly offended by the captialization of my username, as neither I nor nobody else has done it since my days at GameFAQs.

Yeah, but they're also supposed to be used on other sites, to link to the Org. How many people actually do that, I don't know.

I'm sure more people would do this if there was a way to pick a banner at random each time the page is loaded (as on the Org itself) from the many worthy banners. But there's probably some kind of security issue that makes that not such a good idea.

Sorry, after you autokilled yourself whenever you try using inthesto in IRC I've taken to refering to you as you SHOULD be rather than whatever second choice you've made today.

AKA the old off topic crew  .

ANYHOW!

1. Remove scores or hide them, they make people gloat and act mean. If we did it for postcounts, we can do it for video scores!
2. Bring back OT or something.
3. Banners are worthless.
4. This forum is stifling. And dull. Because people can't have some breathing space to let their personalities out.
5. KILL THE ENEMY!
I'm out...

1. They probably like using the scores to make people bicker. And post counts are still around.
2. So we can have more suicide threads.
3. Then make some GOOD ones.
4. I've been walking all over this forum in my size 13's.
5. Weak.
