Adult Swim goes old school. Really old school.

Not sure if it's unanimous, but there's definitely some animosity among some of the staff towards it (there was a pretty infamous event last Halloween when they were having their webcam party. This was the same night as the botched airing of the Big O finale. One of the AS employees, on webcam, started mocking the people who were posting on the boards asking what the Hell was up.)
...suffice to say, the board caught fire for a time after that.
But yeah...it's no secret Adult Swim prefers their comedy line-up over the anime...it's because the comedy gives them the real numbers (...ironically, most of the success coming from airing reruns of Futurama and Family Guy as opposed to their own stuff (which still gets decent numbers, but nothing near the reruns.)) so they naturally play things up in favor of the comedy audiences.

AH CRAP! Typo error! Sorry about getting to this so late, but what I meant to say was, October the 31st, last Monday. Sorry if I got everyone confused on that, and thanks Emi for pointing out my mistake. Only watched the first episode so far. Nothing monumental or groundbreaking, just some cool old school action. If anything, just watch it for what it represents. Like I always say, you have to appreciate where we've come from to enjoy what we now have.EmilLang1000 wrote:Uh huh... unless you mean November 21st, I'd say your sources are horribly wrong...
As far as what's usually popular on Adult Swim, while I always enjoy just about any anime they show, I also tune in on the comedies now and then. Family Guy is always good, Harvey Birdman is one of my favorites, I find Squidbillies funny for some reason (even though I don't usually enjoy comedy when it's done just for the sake of shock value), Robot Chicken is just goofy and I'm looking forward to Boondocks. So I don't really see why there has to be a debate between the fans of the anime block and the fans of the comedy block, just watch what you like and forget about it.
Probably too busy to be here right now.

Ah, I see what you're saying. Interesting; I hadn't realized that Austrailia shows AS all week. That seems a bit odd, since www.adultswim.com says nothing aboot that, but that might just be the wrong site for Aussie Swim.iamdeath wrote:well if u lived in sydney you turn it off cause they show these shows...Kitsuner wrote:The only Adult Swim that is on Friday is the Friday Night Fix, and that's online, not on TV. Looks like I just learned my "Fun Fact of the Day"!
