Question. Is this an actual anime? Or just something created in the U.S.?

It's kind of like Big O. It was made by cartoon network, but with Japanese guys working on it and it aired in Japan. So, yeah it counts as anime, if you consider an American company making a cartoon for Japan anime.

I guess Max Payne isn't much of a yaoi fan...

iGPX is good, I like it. However it's probably going to end up being a selective anime. I enjoyed the first two episodes, so I'm going to go search for the rest of them. I hope it keeps getting some popularity at least so they finish the series on Toonami.
Why do people complain about things? Why can't they just be happy that they were made for them?
I respect everyone's right to not like something, but complaining about it will acomplish nothing...

Did you see the whole series or the first two episodesolder_gohan wrote:I liked the animation but the plot line seemed to weak. The character septh was almost mindnumbingly weak and really their motivation wasn't that well present.
If you just saw the first two episodes don't you think it's a little too early to draw a conclusion like that? (with the exception of the motivation... but winning is all that is necessary in the series)

I'm sure in certain animes you can draw that conclusion. However you don't have proof that iGPX is going to be one of those animes don't you?older_gohan wrote:You can draw alot about a show from the first or second episode. It sets the tone for what the anime will be like.
1st episode (introduction with Jet and Spike)older_gohan wrote:For example Cowboy Bebop has some significant parts within the first few episodes.
2nd episode (filler)
3rd episode (meet faye)
Now I'm no bebop expert, but the first three episodes look something like that right? significant parts you say? Now cowboy bebop has A LOT of fillers for its 5-6 episode main plot right? What's the first episode that really has some baring on Spike's past and the main plot? Ballad of fallen angels right? So what do you mean by "specific parts" if Ballad of fallen angels is like episode 5 I believe?
Cowboy bebop is pretty much an anime where you need to watch quite a bit of it, at least to Jupiter Jazz until you can get a decent ammount of "specific parts".
(and don't snap at me for this ... I'm not a Bebop expert I just like the series...)

oh i wont snap.
for example in the first episode it teases you a bit with some picture of spike in the rain dropping roses, and a woman in the window tearing apart a peice of paper. His training in the weight room in the dark is also a sign. They are small things but important to know to understand the depths of the character.

Saw the first two episodes last night. Very eye-candy production values with very gorgeous animation from Production I.G. The plot and characters may seem cliched, but I forsee this to have great potential.
Even though this is a Bang Zoom! dub, they definetely went far and beyond in hiring some celebrities and other VAs of other cartoon shows. You can find more on the cast in here. Overall, it was a very enjoyable dub, and I can't wait to hear more of it next week.
