x_rex30: Maybe it's something to do with quality. You're mentioning funny cartoons. Anime just aren't terribly funny.

again, matter of opinion, some are down right hilarious in my opinion. mangas tend to be a bit funnier than anime, but still some anime are funny.

In my experience, there will be about 3 great jokes in one episode of Futurama (I'm not sure about the simpsons, the newer episodes are funny but they're too random for my taste) and there is one real side splitter every 3 episodes. Most anime hardly make me giggle, with the sole exception of "Afro? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!" which was a blast.

Can you name some really funny ones please? Unless you're going mention stuff like Azumanga Daioh, in which case there's really no need to bother. It appears my anime guy has been holding back the good stuff.

FLCL, Lupin III, Tenchi Muyo (perverted humor :roll: ), FMA is half funny/half serious, Outlaw Star has some pretty good moments, and the Valentine Brothers episodes of Hellsing are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head
