As an elementary teacher, all I have to say is you have to be pretty low to create this. There's enough problems with judging other people, we hardly need AMVs to make it worse. But hey, if you get your kicks making fun of people who are different than you. I have a heck of a lot more respect for children with disabilities than for people who make themselves feel better by harrassing another group of people.
That's all I have to say. (Saving myself the trouble of sending hate mail later on.)

If you're an elementary teacher with grammar like that, I feel sorrier for the kids you teach. People with disabilities aren't all frail, helpless creatures who are incapable of taking a joke. Try looking at the art of cartoonist John Callahan, and keep in mind he's a quadriplegic himself.Katrina wrote:As an elementary teacher, all I have to say is you have to be pretty low to create this. If you find the idea of the AMV in question offensive, you don't have to download it. But who are you to call people low for creating something you don't like?

I'm calling it low because I think it is. I think it directly attacks another group of people and I'm upset by that. I'm entitled to my opinion as much as you are. You're not exactly helping your cause by insulting my teaching abilities either. Grow up. For the record, teachers don't always have perfect grammar, especially when they're typing quickly.

EDIT: Conversation between myself and BishounenStalker has been taken to private messaging. Have also sent a private PM to Uanime5 apolgoizing if I have stepped over the line in voicing my opinion. I still stand by my position that the video is low and distasteful, but I want to direct that feedback to the AMV, not the creator. Again, apolgies.

Watch them run
Watch them fall
Watch them try to catch a ball
Olympics
Special olympics
Watch them laugh
Watch them drool
Watch them fall into the pool
That's diving
At the special olympics
And I know for well
That i will burn in hell
But those guys playing wheelchair basketball
Gotta be about the funniest freaking thing
I've ever seen in my life
At the Special Olympics
Kid with downs
Wins the race
Even though he stood in place
Olympics
Special Olympics
'Round his neck
Gold metals hung
Resting on his giant tounge
Olympics
Special Olympics
But I kid when I sing
'Cause these games are a beautiful thing
Ok, really I'm just avoiding karma because i know my children can be
born crippled, and blind, and somehow retarded and id have to spend all of my time
At the Special Olympics

Maybe because it is low! It's not low just because she doesn't like it, but because it seems you are so insecure that you get you kicks from making fun of kids with disabilities. I suppose we can all pray that you, and all the others will someday suffer brain damage so that the rest of us can make insulting videos to honor you.BishounenStalker wrote:If you're an elementary teacher with grammar like that, I feel sorrier for the kids you teach. This video was done all in good fun. I'm sure Uanime5 doesn't have a complete disregard for the mentally handicapped, either do most of us who found this song funny. Some of my best friends are mentally handicapped, and THEY find this song funny. However, if this sort of humor is not your particular brand, simply don't watch it. There is no need to flame the creator or the video if you yourself are perfectly capable of avoiding it. It's kinda like those old folks who buy a playboy or watch an adult movie, only to complain it offended them. If you know it'll offend you, do yourself a favor, and steer clear.
